It's a frustrating fanbase at times for that reason. I can remember people calling for Tyshawn to be benched earlier this year...they absolutely hated him. It was crazy at the time (considering he was clearly the team's 2nd best player and had been a four year starter under Self) and it's even more absurd in retrospect after he entered God mode in January.

But then again, there are ignorant people in every fanbase. Being a member of quite a few of them (and a very diverse group), I've seen it.

I was down on TT earlier this year, but it's not like i did anything but hope he would live up to his potential.

Whatever the reasons, I'm glad they at least recognized Self for forming the best team in the conference. He deserved it.

You vote for who you really think deserves it, not "I will vote for you if you vote for me" politics.

The entitled Red Wings fans are probably the worst I've seen in any sport, given the number of Cups they've won in the past ~20 years.... granted, I don't spend evenings reading their comments on Twitter. ROFL

I found the results more amusing than anything else. When your coach whines about B12 officiating on the way out of the conference, I can't say I blame anybody still involved in the conference for voting the way they did. Can you?

I'm a pretty good multitasker... I just have this weird thing where I watch sports for entertainment, so I tend to watch the teams I like instead of wasting time seeing what rival fans who take sports too seriously are saying.

Part of my job is dealing with social media...it is there and around me pretty much all the time. Not to mention I live in a city that is made up of both of our teams... colleagues, friends, acquaintances. I don't have to go hunting in the hills of Lawrence to find people being cowards while watching KU basketball. You mischaracterization of how I consume info was cute but fell flat. I mean jesus do you ever see game threads?

If either of those guys won the league I would agree with you.

Mark Mangino won AP NCOTY in 2007 but I didn't think he deserved it being that KU fell short of the goal of winning the national title.
