I don't think most folks are upset by it. Haith got COTY from the AP, Self and Hoiberg won the COTY from the league coaches.

KU fans seem to be a bit defensive in justifying their guy getting COTY....and Wickedson somehow sees a vote for Hoiberg as a slight against Bill Self, but other that, it is really more of a non-issue on a slow sports day as everyone awaits the Big XII tourney and March Madness.

This was not the best year in Mizzou history. In recent history, yes...

But I would put 93-94 - when they went undefeated in conference and won the league - the second and third Stipo and Sundvold team, and the 76-77 team above this one in terms of "best ever."

Have to win the conference (or do something in the tournament never done before by that school) to call it 'best year ever,' IMO.

Haith is deserving, no question. Self is too and Hoiberg is as well. I know I wouldn't have been upset to see Self not get it. He had a hell of a year, but there were also 2 others very deserving of it.

I think it seems obvious what happened. Everyone not affiliated with the Big 12 laughed and threw their hands up.

If you didn't have a dog in this issue then it came off as silly and petty. It was that obvious. I have enjoyed how the B12 came off in the whole thing.

I know you're not slanted toward one team or the other, but you're saying that neither Self nor Hoiberg deserved it I guess. Oh well....like I said, any of them were deserving.

Hoiberg? Meh. And I don't feel like I am shitting on him or looking down at thr amazing job he has done but these are guys that are being measured against each other. Haith swept him.
