in missouri they technically have to have every emission part that the vehicle came out with.

'technically'

in reality its a visual inspection only, and nobody listens to that shit. Just have your buddy pass it.

You also 'cant' motor swap in missouri and a host of other things.

I've seen guys leave in handcuffs but never due to the inspection, more the lack of one. No invoice found matching date and time, vehicle was proven not to be in area when inspected. But they (MO HP) did take it serious, just no one else did.

I agree, the MO state inspection is the biggest farce that we just can't get rid of.

I would like to see, prefer an emission test over the "just look at one brake pad", "the exhaust isn't leaking enough now to fail" inspection, or the "how loose is loose" re inspections. I don't get the point of knowing that the brake was a **** hair over 1/64" when it was inspected 11 months ago. If you cause an accident due to clearly evident, faulty equipment you should have a judge tell you how long you will miss your family. I've never been satisfied the law saved lives. Honestly the exhaust leak part was the only good part...

Clean air is more important to me. I am in favor of older and custom power train vehicles to be allowed to be driven as unrestricted vehicles and not legislated out of existence. But, if you want to pump HC, CO, CO2 and NOx
gases into the air you should get to pay for the right. same with drive with a "check engine" light on.
Old cars should pay a flat fee for full use and collector cars not be penalized, both should have to show they are not over polluting (belching smoke. running on -2 cyls.).

Customized vehicles are another story all together.

Motor swap not allowed in an inspection? I've been away for 8 years but that's new to me...Can't swap engines? really?

“An ad on page 121 of the October 1974 issue of Road & Track magazine read: “1968 ‘Bullett’ [sic] MUSTANG driven by McQueen in the movie…Can be documented. Best offer.”

Long read but story behind 1 of 2 original Bullitt Mustangs from the 1968 movie. Car was brought out over the weekend to go with 50th Anniversary Bullitt Mustang’s unveiling

Replaced the exterior door handle on my '02 Silverado yesterday. The younger son and I had a good time and he got to learn about how windows are mounted. The three days of driving with a taped-up/on handle were pretty ghetto. LOL. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...91792165c4.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...a4ba6dd942.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...e4484abf61.jpg

Good work, why not just admit the youngest son did the repair, you just drank beer and acted as a union steward?

Well I did get to show him how to dig dropped nuts out of the bottom of the door (use a flashlight!!!). He learned a LOT about up-angling the socket! But with the hands of a 13 year old there was a lot less cussing than when I do it. The "funnest" part was bending everything back into place, because when it broke (frozen shut), there was much tugging going on..

Yeah, 100% on me that it broke!

that's a common failure on GM trucks...

Good for the 13 YO now if I could find a way to suggest tearing into the lawnmower when you're not anywhere to be found....ROFLROFLROFL

Ive got almost 1k on the 18 and love it . The 8 speed and 6.2 is just so much smoother all together.

We are picky as hell on wheels and im not sure what is going to look good with this color. My old wheels didn't. They told me they could just throw some take offs on it and I could keep them. I didn't like them on the new one so I left them on it.they belonged on that truck. So we will take our time and get it right.

But we are looking. Im not a big just all chrome guy.
