I don't have the ultimate MU hate that some KU fans do. I like giving MU fans a hard time sometimes, but I like to see them do well.

jfc it's sports man......it's not like anyone loses sleep over this shit.

and if they do, well then they have very thin skin.

Good post, but just to nip it in the bud...

This was not the best year in Mizzou history. In recent history, yes...

But I would put 93-94 - when they went undefeated in conference and won the league - the second and third Stipo and Sundvold team, and the 76-77 team above this one in terms of "best ever."

Have to win the conference (or do something in the tournament never done before by that school) to call it 'best year ever,' IMO.

This is the best team they've had in 4 years, but Norm also had a lot of better teams than this one.

He's going to win NCOTY. I might be in the minority, but I'm glad he didn't win the conference award. It shows that the league is obsessed with our promotion, and that gives me a chuckle.

This. Haith lost his best post player just before the season and turned his two-guard into a power forward. Seven scholarship players. He might not win the Big 12 Coach of the Year, but he will likely win national recognition.

From Kit Lisaskus the MU basketball equipment manager, talk about home cooking:

Friday afternoon the Tigers arrived by charter bus in Lawrence. Checking into the Marriott, they were met by hotel personnel and told the bus could not park there and were given a spot roughly 300 yards from the hotel entrance. Kit and his crew asked for hotel carts to transport luggage, etc, they were told no carts available. So the team and coaches packed their stuff 300 yards to the Marriott.

They then proceeded to wait in the lobby for over an hour to get checked in all the while being harassed by KU fans. That is OK. When the players were allowed in their rooms the phones constantly rang as the hotel had given out players room numbers to ANYONE who saw fit to call. This would go on until wee hours of the morning until the hotel turned the phones off. Backing up no meals were prepared for the team so they had to wait. Coaches contacted Allen Fieldhouse personnel for a shoot around Friday night. Could not do as for some reason KU had scheduled a women's game, never done before in KU/MU history. Only time available 8am the next morning??

Gets better, no shoot around so team assembles in banquet room at the Marriott for film session. Chairs and tables piled in the corner and the room filled with MUCK FIZZOU signs throughout the room. That's OK now let's watch the film OK but where is the video equipment that was to be provided? No one at the hotel could seem to find it??? NO film session. After a long and sleepless night the Tigers get some cold breakfast and head to Phog.

Since when did teams schedule their own league games? When exactly did the schedule come out? MU not smart enough to figure out how to unplug phones?

Mizzou should be complaining to the Marriott.....I am sure Mariott would want to avoid any embarassment...that is horrible customer service, and some folks should be fired.

Saul Good 03-06-2012 05:42 PM

Who cares? That's what you expect.

It would really be impressive if Lawrence had a Marriott.
