So, what do you guys think of our first round opponent? I saw they had 23 wins and was like "huh?, how did we get an opponent with 23 wins?" Then I looked at their RPI (#103 yeah, screw Kenpom and their pay site) and their strength of opponents. The highest ranked team they beat was #78 UTEP. And they only have 2 wins against top 100 RPI teams. They only played another 6 teams in the top 100 RPI. And in those games, admittedly, they did have a couple of close scores but still lost. Most of the teams they played were in the 150-350 RPI rank.

So, I guess we should not be too worried here. Yes, they are 10-0 in their last 10 games. However, the highest ranked team they have played in that stretch is #274.

The potential second game, whether it's IU or WSU presents a much more favorable match up for KU.

IF KU gets by NMSU, I think a S16 appearance is likely.

This coming from a guy who actively roots for and watches WSU games.

Everybody talking about how KU might lose to Wichita State. Has anybody considered the fact that they may not play Wichita State? As in they shit the bed on primetime television once again and lose to NMSU.

Pascal Siakam is a beast. Remi Barry and Daniel Mullings ain't half bad either. They lost to Colorado State (a top 25 team) by 1 in overtime in a game they probably should have won.

I have NMSU beating KU. That's my upset of the year. Wichita State shouldn't have to worry about a Sweet 16 bid.

Remove television. Any 2nd round matchup is primetime in my opinion. Especially when it's a school like Kansas.

KU losing this game will send shockwaves throughout the tournament, but it really shouldn't. The fact of the matter is, they really aren't as good as a lot of people think, and NMSU has upset alert written all over them.

I went back and read your posts. You're spot on about NMSU's style of play. Their tempo is excruciating.

Lots of teams have led against KU. Final score is what matters. This team has grit and determination. I don't think it will be a blowout, but I'm confident we will move on. This team is too good not to. They know they have to come out with energy and I think they will. The ISU loss showed them they have to keep it up.
