I'm on the Tulo bandwagon, if you can add a core player of his level, I'm all for it.

That said, Castro is a really nice piece.

Guess this stat line: 9hr 37rbi and 122 strikeouts?

Cubs have no manager and no ready replacement for Castro at SS, but you guys think they'll just trade him to the Cardinals for Lynn?

I've loved watching Piscotty play down here. Seems like a patient and great contact hitter. Here's a small clip about some some of the Cards young guys.

Lou Brock from 1963, just prior to the Brock for Ernie Broglio trade. :)

Pfft.

If the Cardinals aren't sending over Miller/Martinez + then there is no discussion.

"The reports which have come out as of now state that the Cubs would be looking for multiple top 100 prospects. The reports have also stated within this package the Cubs would like to get at least two pitchers."

But I'm sure they'd trade him to a division rival for just Lynn.

Castro will be in Chicago for 2014 unless someone gets stupid with their offer. (Miller/Martinez + Jenkins).

Dodgers didnt pick up Skips option! just had to put that. I know he's a former Cardinal and well, he was a waste of a roster spot. never did anything positive lol

'Hamas' Jenkins 11-05-2013 08:08 PM

The Cardinals gave Rob Johnson, Adron Chambers, and Brock Peterson their outright release off the 40 man, and all chose free agency.

Rob Johnson was the ****ing worst.

I don't feel like Martinez + Jenkins for Castro would be a stupid offer at all.

The Cardinals would essentially be surrendering their setup man and potentially stalled prospect for a starting SS with 6 years of team control.

Martinez has absolutely electric stuff, but I still don't think he can hold up as a starter. He is such a slinger and is so max-effort in his delivery. Moreover, with his 'swagger', I don't see him being a guy willing to tone it down a little to get more efficient with his pitch counts and/or prolong his career.

Martinez and Jenkins wouldn't be too much to give up, IMO. We'd get to keep the first rounder we'd have given up to get Drew, we'd save $$ and we'd get a hell of a lot more upside.

Would do.

Martinez, Jenkins, Adams for Tulo. Done.

'Hamas' Jenkins 11-05-2013 08:24 PM

Jenkins has almost no trade value right now.

Probably not, but what does Adams have?
