And the Cable (directv actually) has been cut and i have joined the ranks of those who choose not to get completely ****ed in the ass by America's most evil corporations. Though i have nothing against Directv, it's nice to free up another bill that essentially allowed me to purchase another car.

I picked up a Fire TV Stick for the living room and just use the PC's for the bedrooms.

I got the 1 year of Prime along with my Monthly Netflx and Hulu Subs.

How do you guys handle live sports though?

I just got an email from Roku with a 7 day free trial offer. I'll be doing the trial.

I signed up and added the Roku channel last night. It's a very basic interface that is quite unresponsive (at least on Roku). You flip through the channels like you would watching normal OTA TV, with no pause or DVR capabilities. It works well enough for what it is, but I'm not sure that ESPN, ESPN2 & Disney Channel (which is all my family would watch) is worth $20/month.

EDIT: Although, for $5 more a month they have a special sports package that you can add with a couple more ESPN channels as well as the SEC Network. That will weigh into my decision.

Varies wildly. Sometimes it's near HD. Othertimes it's awful.

I'm one of those people that doesn't really give a shit as long as I can follow the game, so I'm fine with it.

What shows do you and the wife watch on the regular?

Me? None really. GoT and Bates Motel are the only active shows i watch. I'm a documentary kinda guy, when i want to watch T.V.

The wife follows a few of them. The only one she watches that i enjoy is Empire.

ToxSocks 02-24-2015 12:01 PM

Ultimately, the only thing i want T.V for is live sports. But the wife and child need something to entertain themselves with too and more often than not, both of them use internet services far more often than we used standard T.V.

The decision to cut the cord was just too obvious.

SilconDust just came out with an official add on for Kodi/XMBC. It works great with no need for another pc acting as the backend. I highly recommend getting a SD tuner and this addon for local channels or even to act as another cable box.

You could also use USTVnow to view national broadcasts on the big networks. It won't have local programming, but it's great for primetime programming. I've used it quite a bit lately for March Madness on CBS.

Well, it was the only Trakt script on SuperRepo

Just checked it. Yes it is 3.0.0

This works just fine in TVMC with Gotham but not on Kodi.

Got an upgrade, very nice compared to what I used to have [about double].
