I do occasionally wonder if the holding penalty on Dave Szott in the 1990 playoff vs. the Dolphins was riggage.

Amazing how just one questionable call can literally affect the outcome, isn't it?

The best read of all though is INTERFERENCE:HOW ORGANIZED CRIME INFLUENCES PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL by Dan Moldea and in that book it's all about the money, the gambling and interestingly enough there's only one team that has a chapter solely dedicated to them and the name of that chapter is The Kansas City Shuffle.

Lenny D, talking to the Feds, right??
That's the chapter about Super Bowl IV and The Chiefs brass 'worried for days about what their Star QB would tell the FBI' and finally Lenny decided that he 'would tell them the truth'?? Right??

Why would there be any question among the Chiefs' brass? If everything was on the 'up and up', anyway...

Good stuff there.

Officiating is clearly biased in favor of some teams/players.

You can say this, yet can't take it one step closer to the obvious and state that the NFL obviously uses this "biased officiating" in order to achieve a desired outcome??

Once again blackop and rabble are right on the money

When you really get down to it, isn't it really naive of NFL fans to think that they run a completely fair game? I mean, it's a game...a game worth billions. And if the NFL can make more billions nudging some games in a different direction, do we think they won't? It's not like it would be against the law. When there is that much money at stake, rules will be bent to achieve the desired outcome.

Pffft, there's all the proof in the world that the NFL is not running a 'fair fight'; only an über-fanboi still clinging on to the last vestiges of his 12 year old self would even pretend that the NFL isn't rigged.

Quesadilla Joe 02-22-2016 10:13 AM

Why did the NFL want John Elway and Peyton Manning to go out on top and not Dan Marino and Jim Kelly? What did Marino and Kelly do to make the NFL hate them?

Dave Lane 02-22-2016 10:14 AM

How in the world is this not a Pete thread?

Kelly jilted the league in favor of the USFL.

Let's look at the sporting commission that governs the NFL -

Connecticut has their own laws regarding sports, entertainment, and what 'is' or 'isn't' rigging or fixing.

The Connecticut bar exam has its own section called 'Games and Entertainment Law'.

The NFL is based out of Bristol CT.

What other sports entertainment enterprise is based out of Bristol CT??

Why, none other than Vince McMahon's WWE (aka Titan Sports)!! They are governed by the same Sports and Entertainment Gaming Commission as the NFL. fact.

The NFL isn't based out of Connecticut, and even if it was, the other stuff in your post is just made-up nonsense.
