The younger son and I set out on a motorcycle trip from Lees Summit to Quincy, IL (just a hotel!!!), we decided to end it because when we got to Lexington, MO we knew were weren't going to outrun the storms. Not only not outrun them, but they'd stay on top of us like a balloon on a string. I'm hardly afraid of rain, but driving rain and 70mph winds aren't fun. We'll do that trip some other time.

All I can see in Friend are some grain bins. THAT is a small town. Heck, Google streets didn't even go up and down the avenue - that's how you know it's not only small, it's "micro" small..

110* in AZ and crazy storms in the mid west seem not so fun.

Guess I'll take an earthquake every decade here in the Bay Area for great year long weather over severe weather other areas face.
