Just beat god of war, ****ing awesome game, cant wait to start gow 2...took about 8 hours to beat

Started GOW 2, amazing, just keeps getting better and the cut scenes/graphics seem to be better as well.

Amazing series, might be up there now among uncharted/uncharted 2 as my fav. ps3 games now

Any PS3 3.10 update issues/concerns out there? Have you guys ran it yet?

I have seen a thread on the ps3 official site about uncharted 2 not starting on it. But...

That was 1 person, no one else has complained. Im not going to be concered about shit breaking now. I was concerned with 3.01 when i heard it was bricking the bluray player but i apparently have had it the whole time and the ps3 has ran fine. I wonder when i dled it cuz i dont remember it but i dled 3.10 and so far so good

I had Madden freeze on me once, but that's it.

I'm sure it has nothing to do with the update, but I just played a game in Glendale, and the Weather Channel Forecast said it was sunny and 239 degrees at kickoff.

God of War 2 is absolutely sick...compared to GOW 1, huge improvement over the original...loving this collection

the hd remastering is great and the cut scenes and graphics are nicer in gow 2 than 1, but they both look great in gameplay, def. gow 2 has a more polished look imo.

God of War 3 Demo is absolutely beautiful....this game is just stunning looking, can't wait to see the final product. Plays just like gow 2

The blood, gore etc, just wow...attention to detail is great, it's eye candy big time.

Anyone else play the demo? there is rumors that the build looks even better than the demo now....that would be amazing, a game that looks as good if not better than uncharted 2 would be sick.

So im sitting here with the title screen of GOW 3 demo playing for a good few min and all the sudden the screen goes black and it shows the GOW 3 trailer, ****ing sweet. Did anyone else know of this? easter egg in the demo!

Uncharted 2 Among Thieves won GAME OF THE YEAR at the VGA's as well as best graphics and best PS3 game.
God of War III won Most Anticipated Game of 2010, and a little PSN game called FLOWER won best independent game.

So I've recently beat Uncharted 2 (loved it), Fallout 3 & all of the DLC's (might be my favorite game of all time), Arkham Asylum (also top notch).

Now I need to follow all of these up with something good. I'm thinking Metal Gear Solid. I never actually got it when it first came out. Infamous is also near the top of my list.

Are there any other games worth checking out?

Also this year I played Killzone (didn't love it), Bioshock (awesome), Half Life 2 (a little late to the party) and COD World at War (fun).

Apparantley my sister bought me Batman: AA for the PS3. Never played it outside the demo, so this is a good thing. I still have to beat AC, but shit, i cant get over the SFIV addiction. lol

Actually, it is WAAYYYYYYYYYYYY too similar. I downloaded the demo which is a nice amount of game play and was shocked at the similarity. I have been following each level as it is revealed on the official website (9th of every month) and pre-ordered the game back in October.

Now I just need to hurry up and finish GoW 2! :D

I just played about ten minutes of the Dante's demo.

The cut scenes/cinematics are very nice. They look great! (too bad they ripped off Gladiator's wife's death discovery scene for Dante's wife's death discovery scene)


The actual game play is just OK. First off, the swarms of low-fi AI enemies are just terrible. They just approach you and stand there. Also, your character's movements are jerky and not as fluid as Kratos in God of War III (I have played, well...a fair amount of that game).

My impression is that Dante's is a decent game, but really unless you don't have a PS3, just wait the extra five weeks and get God of War III. No question. Seriously, once God of WAR III comes out, there will be no comparisons.

But if you have no way of playing God of War III on a PS3, I guess Dante's is a suitable if not meager substitute.

I'll have to disagree. First off, you only played 10 minutes of the demo. Play the entire thing if you are going to criticize it. In the beginning of GoW 1 and 2, the enemies start off weak and stupid, just like in Dante's Inferno. I don't think the movements are jerky at all, either.

I'd buy both if you enjoy those types of games.

I got a question.

I bought a PS3 a couple of days ago and ordered a modem off of the web as soon as I bought it.

While I am waiting for the modem to be shipped here could I temporarily use the modem that is plugged up to my PC to play online and then when my new modem comes in can I switch them with no problems?

I don't know if things like that will mess up the Playstation Network or something... :hmmm:

Dude, you dont need 2 modems, that won't work at all.

You want to buy a router.

To answer your question, you can use the modem you currently have.

You'll need to buy a router if you don't want to keep switching back and forth.

The way a router works is by plugging your modem into it and then it lets you plug multiple things into that (your PS3, computer, xbox 360, etc.)

I'm not much of a gamer, but I do love picking up Ninja Gaiden sigma and madden from time to time. I recently saw there is a new Gaiden out and since I never beat the first one, I've started playing it again. Completely bad ass game. I'm a panzy though and have to use a walk through off ign or gamestop. I get really frustrated at games when the point is "what do I do next." Id much rather just focus on beating up some bad guys.

I was at Best Buy today, so I walked over to the gaming section to hang out a bit and see what was going on. I overheard this older woman asking where the "extra controllers for PS3" were. and I grabbed a dualshock 3 and handed it to her. Then she said she was looking for a few games. On her list was FIFA 2010, NBA 2010, Assasin's Creed 2, DJ Hero and Uncharted 2. I helped her find all those on the shelf, as well as sold her GTA 4 on greatest hits for $29.99

If you buy a wireless router, you will have wireless and wont need an cable, but it doesn't always run as smoothly.

Some have criticized the gameplay for not being as "realistic" as MW2 (i.e. "weight" of weapons, reload animations, etc), but the way the matches play, and the objectives and ranking and load-outs are much more detailed. It's definitely not a campers/run and gun game. Mush more team-based and organized. Give it a shot.

Damn, Guru is right Batman gets better and better. Game has some freaking crazy good graphics and animation. NOt to mention the best part of all, fun gameplay.

Went to Radioshack and picked up some Netgear router for 130 bucks . Played 12 games of Madden so far and I haven't been disconnected yet. Damn wireless keypad broke already though .:cuss:

130 bucks for a wireless router? Holy christ. You can get one easily for like 70. Linksys is what I have.

I don't know much about routers so I asked the guy which router would give me the best signal if my modem and PS3 were on seperate floors, and I bought the one he recommended.

i have a linksys that was $45 works fine

gotta watch out for cheap modems, i bought a cheap lynksys a few years back and it couldnt handle having 3 plus computers and running torrents. Modem reset every 20 min. lol

I have 2 pcs and my ps3 hooked up at home nad its never had issues.

But you do get what you pay for.

fwiw... I would recommend a Wireless N router if you are downstairs and the modem is upstairs..

i meant to say router, not modem, but i am sure you know thats what i meant. I guess mine was just shitty or something. I used to get so frustrated when trying to play xbox live and in them iddle of a game your shit disconnects. This was back in 2007 though when APF2K8 Just came out. I hate when i get a bad disconnect rate on my profile. lol

I didn't care much for the game but Tiny's ad was top notch.

I'm really looking forward to it, but Indigo Prophecy, Quantic Dream's last game, fell apart in the last act and I've seen a few things from Heavy Rain that give me pause.

Alot of hype coming from heavy rain but i have no clue what the game is about...im excited about that and GOW 3
