Lazy, stupid basketball.

petegz28 02-15-2012 09:19 PM

Ok, enough of the BS, 7 - 0 run going for OSU right now...time to get back to business

stonedstooge 02-15-2012 09:19 PM

Missouri let off a bit and OKST took advantage of it. Need to get it going again

Mr_Tomahawk 02-15-2012 09:21 PM

This is perfect...I said MU wins by 22.

O.city 02-15-2012 09:21 PM

I'm not saying that stats don't matter, cause in the end things usually are pretty close to what the stats show. However there are always outlying factors to look at when looking at stats.

Like I said, when MUs guards are disruptive, their defense is pretty good. When teams handle the pressure, MU gets in trouble on the defensive end.

Playing with the pressure is MU's way of making up for the size disadvantage. When they have to double the post, teams can get them scrambling.

However, a great thing about that lineup is that when you do double, you have the quickness to get to shooters when passers find the guys.

Mr_Tomahawk 02-15-2012 09:23 PM

That was a travel...

Saul Good 02-15-2012 09:23 PM

And THAT dunk by OSU is why Mizzou:

1. Gives up a misleadingly high FG%
2. Does not commit fouls.

Mr_Tomahawk 02-15-2012 09:23 PM

Playground.

DonkyPuncher 02-15-2012 09:25 PM

Better get Okie St some rape whistles, this is just a massacre

Mizzou up by 29 with 10 minutes left....

Gotta love that home cookin`

O.city 02-15-2012 09:27 PM

It's games like this that show how damn hard it is to win on the road in the Big 12.

MU would probably beat this OSU team damn near every game at home. But go on the road and shit goes bad.

stonedstooge 02-15-2012 09:28 PM

This kind of game is so much more enjoyable to watch than that shitfest that was on Monday night

We went through a stretch of games where we just looked tired. That was one of them. We struggled all game, finally got a 10 point lead, and we just exhaled.

You need to become educated on basketball. Everybody knows that Kansas is the better team despite the record, ranking, and head-to-head result.

Saul Good 02-15-2012 09:30 PM

Nash with 12 steps and lays it in.

Saul Good 02-15-2012 09:31 PM

Suddenly Denmon's got 17.

redfan 02-15-2012 09:31 PM

They had them ont he road and brainfarted. Seriously, I generally agree with you but they had OSU and started going soft too early and OSU made them pay.

SPATCH 02-15-2012 09:32 PM

Markel Brown is the most frightening dunker in the country, btw.

Yep.

It's just tough to win on the road in this conference, with some of the venues you have to go too.

MU and KU, the top two teams in the conference, have lost ugly games on the road and won a few that they probably should or could hav elost.

DonkyPuncher 02-15-2012 09:33 PM

The loss to this team earlier really hurt's lookin at it in the Big 12 standings, we need to win out and that includes a win at the Phog, I don't see Kansas losing again unless it's to us (Mizzou)

He's been getting away with steps all night. Think the Refs just want to end the game and with the score being what it is..what's the point?

Couldn't you apply the same thing to KU when they came to MU?

How could Haith possibly not win Coach of the Year?

Did I hear right on the radio? Thought they said that Self had never won at OK State

He throws games to his alma mater.

O.city 02-15-2012 09:35 PM

KU always struggles there.

SPATCH 02-15-2012 09:36 PM

Coach Fran seems to think that English could catch on the league.. a few beakers were treating that notion like the most insane, fantastic idea they had ever heard.

I believe a few MU fans treated that notion the same as some Beakers.

I don't think he said NBA. I heard him say "professional". He's not NBA.

O.city 02-15-2012 09:39 PM

Question to you MU fans, what the hell happened to you guys in Manhattan? Does Kstate jsut matchup with you guys or did you just play bad?

I know KSU has the tendency to much up games and is pretty good defensively but I was looking at box scores and that game was pretty bad.

Saul Good 02-15-2012 09:40 PM

Look at that Mizzou depth. Playing 8.

I'm still worried about that game in Columbia. They like to play ugly basketball, and we like to play pretty basketball.

It was the only game of the season that Missouri panicked. They fell completly apart

Bob Dole 02-15-2012 09:41 PM

A little bothersome that the last three 3-point attempts have been airballs...

Saul Good 02-15-2012 09:41 PM

Jones comes in, and we can't rebound or defend. We need to bench his ass.

O.city 02-15-2012 09:41 PM

I hate playing KState for that fact alone, Saul.

They slop it up, really dig in and guard.

2 things..one. KSU is not the best matchup for MU because they are big and play very physical defense. Two KSU had one of their best scoring performances of the season that game.

Saul Good 02-15-2012 09:42 PM

If English gets a bucket, we'll have 5 players with 15 or more points.

Saul Good 02-15-2012 09:43 PM

Matt Pressey's having a typical Matt Pressey game. (The 2s are rebounds and assists)

Matt Pressey, 0-5 0-1 0-0 0 2 2 0 0 0 0 0

O.city 02-15-2012 09:44 PM

I could see KSU being a tough matchup for you guys. Samuels is a tough guard for English and they have a couple bigs that can block shots.

I don't think they can beat you in the Paige, I think you guys guards are too good.

O.city 02-15-2012 09:44 PM

IMO, MU would be better with Dixon starting and Pressey off the bench, but don't wanna mess with a good thing.

I don't think they can beat us in the Paige because there is no building by that name.

O.city 02-15-2012 09:44 PM

He's not really that good defensively IMO.

petegz28 02-15-2012 09:45 PM

Mizzou arena.

Saul Good 02-15-2012 09:45 PM

Sutton in the game.

mnchiefsguy 02-15-2012 09:45 PM

OSU on a little run here....lead down to under 20.

Denmon, English, Flip and RR all on the bench as well

Saul Good 02-15-2012 09:46 PM

I like getting our subs some minutes, but this is a little much.

Saul Good 02-15-2012 09:47 PM

We had a 35 point lead when we put Miller in the game.

mnchiefsguy 02-15-2012 09:48 PM

Come on Mizzou...I know the scrubs are in..but you gotta stop the bleeding.

Saul Good 02-15-2012 09:48 PM

Matt Pressey could get a point here. Good to see that...oh wait, he's a starter somehow.

Mr_Tomahawk 02-15-2012 09:49 PM

18....damn. I was wrong.

mnchiefsguy 02-15-2012 09:49 PM

Mizzou definitely took the foot off the pedal in the last 8 minutes....

Good win for Mizzou...back in first place!

O.city 02-15-2012 09:49 PM

I'm hoping both KU and MU take care of business at A&M. That game scares me for some reason.

Saul Good 02-15-2012 09:50 PM

Mizzou went 10 deep. Nice to see why we only play 7, normally.

-King- 02-15-2012 09:50 PM

I really don't care about the lead going from 35 to ~20. It was to be expected. Happens in most blowout basketball games. The team with the lead sits starters, and the other team narrows the gap. An 18 point win is still a blowout.

KcMizzou 02-15-2012 09:51 PM

Hell of a game. Wasn't nearly as close as the score indicates. (obviously) That was a demolishing.

Fun to watch.

Yep...and the seven we do play, play relatively balanced minutes. I really think this team could be primed for a good tournament run.

Enjoy the ride, it has been great so far!

beer bacon 02-15-2012 09:52 PM

Mizzou's horrible defense gave up 65 points tonight :(

Mizzou could have won by 40, had they kept playing their normal seven and not emptying the bench with six minutes left.

It was a complete demolishing. Mizzou needed one of those, they have been playing a lot of close games lately...nice to play a game that was pretty much won by halftime.

Can we just play the KU MU game this Saturday and forget the rest of the regular season, go to Sprint and play again for the tourney title?

Saul Good 02-15-2012 09:55 PM

It's nice that we got to rest our starters. That's big down the stretch.

Braincase 02-15-2012 09:57 PM

6 Personal Fouls. Absolutely ****ing amazing.

mnchiefsguy 02-15-2012 09:57 PM

Love the Sportscenter side crawl:

3 Missouri's Revenge

Awesome.

One revenge game down, one to go. The K-State game concerns because of how physical they are.

The A & M game concerns too. Saturday's game is their Super Bowl. They will be pumped to face the #3 team in the country. Hopefully Mizzou will come out strong and hit their shots early and take the crowd out of it.
