My team was happy to finally be home after 5 weeks on the road... Not sure how i won by so much...

How does the playoffs work in this game? Is it just the division leaders or are their wildcards?

Two wild cards from each conference play in the WC round.
The winner of that game and the 3 division winners play the next week.
Conference championships
Sandbox bowl.

Im going to throw this out there, but I think the best defensive division is out in the East...

I love my team committing personal foul penalties up by 38 points. LMAO

The Denver Dicks.

Hammock Parties 07-24-2013 08:34 PM

LMAO and Peppers did it AGAIN a few minutes later.

I'm expecting some fines from the league office.

Hammock Parties 07-24-2013 08:40 PM

Well, I don't know what to say. I was actually worried about this one going in, because Fort Worth has a lot of firepower and I was down a man in the secondary.

So I slid Huff over to start at CB, McCourty to FS, and my defense probably played it's best game of the year. LMAO

Finally had a decent game on third down (6-11).

Hope CJ Spiller isn't mad about Ahmad Bradshaw stealing his goal line carries. :)

rageeumr 07-24-2013 09:21 PM

**** me. If by some chance I end up in the Sandbox bowl against Denver, I'm going to have to buy info off cdcox. He's the only one to give them ANY kind of a game.

He shut down my running game with two elite DTs.

You have one elite DT but I think I can handle him since he's your only blue chip DL. I've only allowed two sacks all year.

You have a very good OL but lack WRs. I think my passing game would overwhelm your secondary eventually.

You're giving up a high YPC, that might be a factor.

The question for you is...do you really want to blitz Akeem Ayers when I literally have eight skill position players who can beat you? (Welker, White, Smith, Givens, Myers, Allen, Spiller, Bradshaw).

To be honest I'm not really sure how good my team is. I squeaked past Cdcox and beat the Pillagers handily, but the rest of my schedule has been full of cake:

Dallas 2-5
Springfield 1-6
Portland 3-4
Topeka 2-5
Fort Worth 2-5

We'll know just how mighty these Broncos are after I play Anchorage and Clearwater. :)

Hammock Parties 07-24-2013 10:13 PM

Here's something to be scared about: you have a free agent kicker for the postseason, and your punter is average.

I have excellent kick returners. :)

Yes, the game was closer than the score indicated. AND you had a lot of success stopping my offense.

Fortunately for Provo, they don't start Philip Rivers at QB.

Some teams have to play us twice.

Imagine what that does to your defensive scoring average.

cdcox 07-25-2013 12:39 AM

Week 8 lineups are available. Friday's sim day.

Fansy the Famous Bard 07-25-2013 08:14 AM

Outgained a Duluth team by 80 yards, had 200 yards rushing, sacked Rivers 3 times, etc...

But.... 2 more lost fumbles (that has to be some type of record), including 1 returned for a touchdown (the other on my own 19 yard line that resulted in another score), another 2 failed attempts on 4th down.

That's the 4th game where my team has outplayed the opposition yet lost.

3rd in the leauge in Offensive yards. 6th in Defensive yards.. yet near the bottom in both scoring offense and scoring defense.

The amount of 4th downs my team has gone for, the amount of Special Teams touchdowns we've given up, the amount of missed FG's (by a good kicker), Defensive Touchdowns by the opposition, and Fumbles have all got to be records in futility.

If I've done something to piss you off, CD... I'm sorry... really.

Here's to a miserable 2-5. I guess I can play for the #1 overall pick... We do need a Right Tackle afterall!

Which DT are you shortchanging? Fairley and Melton are both pretty damn good.

I had a long response typed up, but I decided I was doing all my future opponents' game planning for them and then just throwing it out there. So I'll just say I agree I don't match up well against you for a myriad of reasons. Still hoping for the chance, though!

You won't have Fairley in the Sandbox Bowl if the current injury availability is correct.

I don't see him as a blue chip DT anyway. Especially not against my G/C.

A fact I had glossed over.

As far as sacks are concerned, I have ended up on the right side of my Dockett/Wilkerson for Fairley/Wimbley trade so far. Fairley and Wimbley both have 3 sacks and Dockett and Wilkerson have none.

But in the grand scheme of things I still have some buyers' remorse. I probably should have held on to Wilkerson. Oh well. C'est la vie.

I would love to know how any of the teams I have played are choosing to attack me on offense/defense (you know, since it's not working at all :)).

Since most of you don't have to play me again there's no harm in sharing via private message. Anyone game?

Duluth doesn't game plan against opponents. We take what we want, when we want. And it works slightly more than half the time.

When we built the league, I think I had the fourth pick in the draft and took Phillip Rivers, thinking he was a youngish top-tier QB with many years left in the tank. His rapid decline has significantly affected our fortunes.

DJ's left nut 07-25-2013 04:29 PM

Von Miller is really good.

And Anthony Castonzo is evidently a turnstyle. ****ing guy is getting abused weekly and I think it's been 3 consecutive weeks that a sack/fumble has been extremely costly.

This team drives me absolutely insane.

Anchorage gets TWELVE sacks on Cam Newton and holds Wichita to 56 total yards.

OMFG

Six sacks for Von Miller.

TambaBerry 07-26-2013 07:58 PM

I can't believe I lost wtf a lot of offensive pass interferences and weird ass play bush catches it for 46 yards fumbles and the defense runs it back for a td come on. Also drew brees blows.

Hammock Parties 07-26-2013 09:22 PM

The amount of cackling I do reading my play by plays is hilarious.

I should film myself reading one. It's just good fun. LMAO

I'm slightly disappointed I only scored 30 points this week BTW. WTF. That's poverty offense. And another piss poor 3-10 on third down. WTF.

Nice performance by the defense. Gameplan totally destroyed Overland Park.

Pending future results, I may just leave Devin McCourty at FS. He's been there two weeks in a row now with stellar results.

Come at me, Sandbox.

Rain Man 07-26-2013 09:31 PM

Big plays continue to kill us in Duluth. We gave up a 79 yard run and also lost a fumble that resulted in a 12-yard touchdown drive.

Phillip Rivers is pretty mediocre for us at QB, which is hurting us, but I really can't figure out the defensive problem. I don't think we're weak but we continue to give up points like crazy.

TambaBerry 07-26-2013 09:41 PM

Its ok, I think my team is a fluke. Some how we lose to teams we are clearly better then.

Hammock Parties 07-26-2013 09:42 PM

Awesome shootout between Clearwater and Austin.

C'est la vie, Percy Harvin.

edit - guess he has one more game

Hammock Parties 07-26-2013 09:46 PM

If you doubled Percy Harvin's numbers he would have finished the Sandbox year with 134 catches for 1,590 yards and 22 TDs with only 2 drops.

Lord.

Hammock Parties 07-26-2013 10:11 PM

Thought League 1 might be interested in some amazing stats from League 2. I don't really see anything this crazy in our league, apart from Von Miller having 15 sacks.

Quote:

Notable stats at the halfway mark:

Rancho Cucamonga is racking up the sacks. 40 already at the midpoint. That's insane.

Meanwhile Independence has allowed 42 sacks. Ouch.

Andy Dalton has already thrown 19 interceptions. LMAO

St. Louis is running Adrian Peterson into the ground. He has 196 carries already, which puts him on pace for an impressive 2,500 yards and 26 TD.

Greg Hardy has 19 freakin' sacks. Nineteen.

DeMarcus Ware has 15. Not bad.

Hammock Parties 07-26-2013 11:41 PM

Consecutive plays for the Wichita offense against Anchorage (not counting punts, etc)

Quote:

Cam Newton sacked by Von Miller for a loss of -9 yards.
Cam Newton sacked by Mario Williams for a loss of -6 yards.
Cam Newton sacked by J.J. Watt for a loss of -8 yards.
Cam Newton passes incomplete, dropped by Andre Johnson.
Cam Newton (pressured) passes -3 yards intercepted by Curtis Lofton.
Cam Newton sacked by Antoine Bethea for a loss of -4 yards.
Later:

Quote:

Cam Newton sacked by Von Miller for a loss of -7 yards.
Cam Newton sacked by J.J. Watt for a loss of -8 yards.

cdcox 07-27-2013 12:47 AM

Line ups ready for week 9, sims on Sunday

brorth 07-27-2013 06:44 AM

BTW, I still don't have WR Stephen Hill available. He's been gone since week 4.

noa 07-27-2013 10:02 AM

I don't even know what to say about my shootout with Clearwater. On the one hand, his offense is stacked, so I shouldn't be surprised. But I also have 4 starting CBs in my secondary and two decent safeties. And on top of the 6 Rodgers TDs, he scrambled for 85 yards. Rodgers just destroyed me. I'm glad my offense was able to make a game out of it, though, considering that my defense didn't show up at all. Coming back from down 21-0 was cool, but I couldn't keep it up.

Edit: Also, despite not fumbling once all season, Vick Ballard had a crucial fumble that gave Clearwater the ball at my 2 yard line.

noa 07-27-2013 10:06 AM

WR Mike Williams isn't available for me even though he played in Week 9.

BTW, I still don't have WR Stephen Hill available. He's been gone since week 4.

To compensate for some earlier games where he incorrectly was counted out, I made him available for the rest of the season, event though he missed some games at the end.
