Xander with a double

kstater 07-22-2018 09:37 AM

Holy shit

Some vintage Tiger right there. Rory with a couple birdies to put himself back in it too. NBC has to be loving this. Woods, Spieth and McIlroy all at the top, plus Molinari who is a top 15-20 player.

displacedinMN 07-22-2018 09:51 AM

If only Tiger could control the weather.

He bounces one off the crowd

tk13 07-22-2018 09:58 AM

Yeah the wind is picking up big time. Gonna be a great back 9. Tiger with the double to fall back.

It sounded crazy when guys were -9.... but that -5 score is totally in play right now.

Miles 07-22-2018 10:11 AM

Is it just me not being use to watching commercials but are there a lot more of them than a usual major final round? They even just had a Tiger shot on split screen mute with a commercial.

tk13 07-22-2018 10:12 AM

Rory with the slam dunk from deep. Tied for the lead.

Absolutely seems commercial heavy

displacedinMN 07-22-2018 10:21 AM

too hard Tiger.

Looks like good race to the finish.

Discuss Thrower 07-22-2018 10:31 AM

NEED MOAR COMMERCIALS.

'Hamas' Jenkins 07-22-2018 10:32 AM

Tiger is going to have a 3000 foot putt for eagle.

'Hamas' Jenkins 07-22-2018 10:36 AM

I think Lehman is wrong. Fourteen is playing easy enough, and 18 short enough, that I think the winner will be at least -7.

tk13 07-22-2018 10:36 AM

I almost wanted to see him putt that just to see if he could hit it that far with any accuracy.

He definitely did the right thing, but it would be funny to watch him take a putter back waist high. More guys should be willing to do that on the final round of a tournament. You see guys putting when there is no way to get it close.

...and now he hammers one in from 25.

Agreed. But posting at 6 with an hour and a half left has to feel good

Yeah, Molinari is playing like a machine right now, but Rose has to feel pretty good about where he's at.

O.city 07-22-2018 10:50 AM

Tiger needs a few more

Discuss Thrower 07-22-2018 11:10 AM

Dying laughing at Schauffele's "ohhhh shit"

srvy 07-22-2018 11:10 AM

Oh shit is the right words Zander. lol

'Hamas' Jenkins 07-22-2018 11:11 AM

Molinari has played so well both today and the last several weeks that he would be a deserving champion. He still has a balky putter, though.

And Woods' second shot shows the weakness of playing a short club.

O.city 07-22-2018 11:16 AM

Molinari is such a good ball striker it’s tough to see him back up much

ROYC75 07-22-2018 11:17 AM

What has happened to Speith?

Windy conditions? As they say, typical B O Car-nasty type weather conditions?

kstater 07-22-2018 11:22 AM

Wow, who’s the world class asshole

Every golfer has one hot round in a tournament. He had his yesterday. For as much as everyone lauds Spieth, if he's not dropping multiple 20-30 foot bombs he's not that great. That's why I don't think he's going to have as much staying power as some of these other guys. He's not good enough inside 10 feet to indicate that his putting from 20+ feet is actually sustainable.

kstater 07-22-2018 11:27 AM

Don’t think it’s enough, but he gave himself a chance

SPchief 07-22-2018 11:28 AM

Oohhhhh. Now needs molinari to mess up

'Hamas' Jenkins 07-22-2018 11:28 AM

That will close the book on Tiger and McIlroy.

kstater 07-22-2018 11:28 AM

And Molinari may have just won it there

Why Not? 07-22-2018 11:29 AM

Don't think anyone goes -8(unless Molinari does). Molinari at least in a playoff

'Hamas' Jenkins 07-22-2018 11:31 AM

Holy God, that was a piss awful putt by Tiger.

And Molinari is going so well that even Feherty's announcer's jinx couldn't stop him.

O.city 07-22-2018 11:31 AM

That wasn’t good

Well, that didn't take long to find out.

'Hamas' Jenkins 07-22-2018 11:37 AM

I'd love to see just one tournament where pros would have to play without a gallery to mash down the rough, grandstands to give them free drops, and forecaddies to see how much it affects scoring.

O.city 07-22-2018 11:38 AM

I don’t think it would effect scoring that much

KC_Connection 07-22-2018 11:38 AM

More than a bit of an underwhelming ending after the first few hours but no question the best player this week is about to win.

At a place like here they'd end up losing a couple of balls per tourney without a forecaddie.

Looking like moving day of the PGA is going to be a birdie sprint. Lots of big names near the top, Koepke, Fowler, DJ, Justin Thomas, Rose, Day.

Tiger's started with 2 birdies to move into the top 10 as well.

I'm surprised how well the course has resisted scoring given the width and construction of the fairways and the softness of the greens. I've been impressed. Were the greens firmer, and the fairways pinched in with this rough, this would be an ideal US Open setup.

Why Not? 08-12-2018 02:59 PM

Wanna know how I know Tiger isn't meant to win this?

Yeah I was a little worried early. The weather has been tough here this year so it’s gotta be soft on the greens or they’d be dead as shit.
I’d like to see it host a us open

He only has himself to blame there for hitting it to 30 feet from 80 yards

No doubt but man, you can't get it closer on a putt

For sure

O.city 08-12-2018 03:09 PM

That’s a tough wedge shot

Thomas just throwing putts away

'Hamas' Jenkins 08-12-2018 03:09 PM

Thomas looked like he was lined up way closed on that short putt on 14 and he overcompensated with the stroke as a result.

He gets a little steep in transition on his full swing rarely and I think it creeps in his putting or something

O.city 08-12-2018 03:12 PM

I can’t believe Adam Scott has 2 putters in his bag

It's actually a pretty smart strategy, IMO. If it helps his lag putting, he probably saves more strokes than carrying a long/mid iron would save for him (don't know what club he replaced).

I don’t think he’s used the other one yet

Just seems like a waste. If I was gonna take another club out I’d add a wedge, especially for a dude that’s a ball striker of his level

GloryDayz 08-12-2018 03:26 PM
