He definitely did the right thing, but it would be funny to watch him take a putter back waist high. More guys should be willing to do that on the final round of a tournament. You see guys putting when there is no way to get it close.

Well that was ****ed up.

I ****ing hate Chavs.

Every golfer has one hot round in a tournament. He had his yesterday. For as much as everyone lauds Spieth, if he's not dropping multiple 20-30 foot bombs he's not that great. That's why I don't think he's going to have as much staying power as some of these other guys. He's not good enough inside 10 feet to indicate that his putting from 20+ feet is actually sustainable.

I'd love to see just one tournament where pros would have to play without a gallery to mash down the rough, grandstands to give them free drops, and forecaddies to see how much it affects scoring.

I'm surprised how well the course has resisted scoring given the width and construction of the fairways and the softness of the greens. I've been impressed. Were the greens firmer, and the fairways pinched in with this rough, this would be an ideal US Open setup.

Thomas looked like he was lined up way closed on that short putt on 14 and he overcompensated with the stroke as a result.

He gets a little steep in transition on his full swing rarely and I think it creeps in his putting or something

It's actually a pretty smart strategy, IMO. If it helps his lag putting, he probably saves more strokes than carrying a long/mid iron would save for him (don't know what club he replaced).
