Duncan, can we officially call Merrifield the real deal yet? Or if not - is it 90% likely he's the real deal?

Staumont is kind of a modern day Nolan Ryan. He's basically unhittable but also has awful control. If he finds a way to get to league average command without losing anything, he's Stephen Strasburg (yes, I realize that sounds ridiculous, but his stuff is FILTHY). Quote:
Still need to see how he handles it when pitchers stop filling up the strike zone against him. But I love the way he handles the bat, his swing in general, and the contact skills. Impressive things, all. Quote:
The White Sox gave up nothing and only had to take on 1/2 the salary he was owed. Even pitching at the Cell, that's a good deal unless he has gone complete 2015 Jeremy Guthrie. It's possible he has. I wasn't mad KC didn't trade for him... Just more of the mindset that KC should start trying to trade with Preller. But perhaps the word was out on him in the scouting community or something. I wasn't mad either, I just did not want him in KC because his fastball has been declining and his FIP has gone up since he left KC. 3.47 and 3.59 in his 2 years in KC, which is passable. Since he left, it was 4.45 and 4.41. That's a bad sign. |

Ned was asked about using Hererra-Davis 3 straight games and said "Well yeah, these are huge games. 2 game swing, if we lose we are down 4 we win down 2."
He's right but the obv question is just hanging out there |

Recommendations for seating at the K for a day game?

Loge boxes or field reserve if you want to stay out of the sun. Fountain seats if you want to be in the OF. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I had free all inclusive seats for a Cardinals game a couple weeks of go. It's going to be hard to go back to normal seats after that. All you can eat and drink was very nice.

200 to 300 range? That doesn't seem to bad for those.

A buddy of mine did get 2 Crown seats for $85 each to a game last summer last minute.

Lowest BABIP allowed:
Cubs, .250 Dodgers, .265 Blue Jays, .279 Nationals, .280 Indians, .282 They ran at .288 and .299 last two seasons with largely the same pitchers so this might be a reason for optimism if they revert a bit *edit: we are at .290 and ran at .289 and .289 in past |
Is anyone else having trouble with mlb.tv? It's saying I'm blacked out for some reason. I think it's just down.

Is there no game thread because Chris Young is pitching or what?
|
Everyone who took turns starting game threads during the losing streak is terrified.
|
I stepped up , bunch of pussies. I'm the one that started our winning streak anyway !
|
Dudes, I think we have our Zobrist here in Merrifield.
Too soon? |
If he leaves for the Cubs next year I'm going to be pissed.

I'm going to guess the guy passed out in one of the stalls and fans pulled him out because they didn't want to wait in line. Whatever the story is behind this guy it will be glorious. |

Be nice to have him instead of Infante on the bench. |

Frankly, I'm shocked. I didn't think they would cut Omar until they absolutely had to. In fact, when Gordon comes back I fully expected Colon to be sent down and Omar kept as Whit's backup.
But to cut him for ... Flynn? Not complaining, just surprised. |

Personally I would give Glass the credit here, IMO. Every Royals fan alive knew Omar's time was up, not exactly a hard decision for DM to make. The resources for him to do his job comes from the top, and Glass is putting his money where his mouth is and is giving DM the resources to succeed in terms of making decisions that benefit the Royals as opposed to (strictly) the bank account.

Alex Gordon hit early batting practice on the field today. It didn't look like he was limited too much by the right hand.

"Omar goin"....
Damn... I'll always remember that big HR in game 2 of the 14 series. Off Strickland. Thanks Omar. |
Wow Jose Reyes got DFA? Might want to go get him
|
So does that mean Omar is gone? He doesn't go to Omaha right?
|
Think the Royals want a wife beater in their clubhouse

You guys really want to show the flaws in fan voting?

Omar news is great news.
He has been awful since the start of 2015, but his contributions in 2014 were likely enough to make the difference between the Royals hosting the playoff game and just being in it. Was that WC game worth 30+ million to KC? You could make that argument. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Whatever we did and whatever we spent the last 2 years was worth every penny. The present value of all the increased revenue (partic with a generation of fans being won) far outweighs what we spent to get it. |
