DeJesus' WAR:

'05: 4.4
'06: 3.5
'07: 3.3
'08: 3.7
'09: 3.1
'10: 3.1

My point? Gordon's trade value, at least at this point, is so limited that he's worth far more to the Royals than he is to any other team.

It is at this point in the season. That's a cumulative stat, so he's on pace for around 7.

- It is possible to have a negative WAR. In fact, the worst fWAR any player has had since 2002 is Neifi Perez from the 2002 Royals. His -3.1 fWAR eclipses the second place finisher, Yuniesky Betancourt from the 2009 Royals (-2.2 fWAR). Oh, those Royals…

Royals plan six-man rotation when Davies returns

I've hit depressed-Royals-fan mode.

This entire organization has served us all a piss-poor meal with a fresh ass fork.

I suppose it's better than sending Duffy down like some were speculating (no idea if it was ever seriously considered or not)

Great Expectations 06-28-2011 03:10 PM

At least they are thinking outside of the box. I'd rather couple Davies with Hocheaver or something like having Hoch pitch the first 4 2/3rds of every game and having Davies come in after that.

with the way our starting rotation is going, the extra "starter" would be much better served in long relief. in fact, I think we need 2 or 3 long-relievers in the bullpen.

or just have Davies ready for the 6th inning of every Hoch start, and (hopefully) give the 'pen the day off. lord knows they need it.

Hey our rotation is so good we have to make room for a 6th so they can all pitch.

Thinking outside the box? They don't have the balls to decide from any number of shitty pitchers to send down on the basis that said shitty pitcher wouldn't clear waivers. Instead, they send all of the shitty pitchers out to the mound.

At least this is consistent with approaches to other aspects of the game.

For example, we haven't traded one top prospect for proven talent. Why? Couple of possibilities: 1. They're all going to pan out. Every. Single. One. Of. Them. 2. We can't properly evaluate our own system and potential talent. 3. We don't want to pay the potential proven ML talent that we'd get in return.
