Melky... I think Francouer stays

Despite the 0-9 beating we took yesterday was a good day for the Royals. Elier Hernandez is probably one of our top ten prospects already and Montgomery finally looked like he has his whole minor league career.

I will say the ML game depressed me, our at bats just seemed to lack effort. My confidence in Yost is at the lowest it has been so far.

Alice Gordon should be our all star.

Hernandez is 6'4 200lbs and 16? wow

Thinking he may go for some pitching, but feel free to plug him in LF.....probably no point in projecting trades until we know how our current staff is going to fill out.

Rany's latest update is outstanding, and it provides a bit of hopefulness during an unbelievably shitty current stretch for the club.

Good stuff by Rany. I guess that's how I feel about it. People just want to look at our record straight away... I think we look much better prepared for the future than last year when it was Greinke/Soria, and a bunch of garbage. Gordon and Butler are doing alright, every single guy we got for Greinke looks like they may end up being a major league contributor. Lots of great arms in the bullpen. Definitely a long way to go, and there has to be concern about the starting pitching, but this team just seems to have much more promise than last year's team.

KChiefs1 07-02-2011 12:28 PM

Why are people surprised by the Royals this year?
Didn't we all predict a shitty season with 100+ losses?

Because the starting pitching cupboard in the minors looks surprisingly bare. All of the upper-level prospects, Duffy aside, have been sub-par.

And we can talk all we want about low-level prospects, but these guys are so far away that it's hard to put too much stock in what they may or may not become.

No knowledgeable fan is too worried about the ML results, though they certainly do get tiresome.

KChiefs1 07-02-2011 11:22 PM

Gordon has to be the Royals all-star.

I was thinking that the other day too. Butler has the highest average but he's not going to play first in an NL park.
