From what I've heard of the history the Eagles had their own version of suck for luck going in and won a late game which cost them a chance at the # 1 which I believe was OJ. They just weren't feeling very Christmassy.

They booed Mike Schmidt and Steve Carlton on a regular basis and had a special story the the NFL films group about their criminal justice court on site. The film also described a section in the old vet where even the cops wouldn't go. The bullpens were just switched so the Phillie fans can have greater fun shouting obscenities at the other team and tossing the occassional beer in there.

Right, and according to some the guy in the Santa suit was drunk and/or a shitty Santa.

And though I can't defend every indiscretion made by every single Philly fan in the last 50 years, they didn't boo Schmidt and Carlton "regularly," or not enough to keep them from being two of Philadelphia's biggest ambassadors. Also, the stadium jail is definitely a blackeye for Philly but some feel it was meant to puff up our reputation as tough, no-nonsense fans, an image we embrace just as much as Card fans embrace the image of being happy, soulless dolts. And I don't understand why you have a problem with the opposition's bullpen being closer to the hecklers; that's gamesmanship.

And if you hate Philly fans now, just wait until tomorrow night; oh we're still scared shitless of the Cards but this city will has never been so pumped. We shall see how unflappable ol' Carpenter is.

I'm stoked for tommorrow. Winner take all, loser goes home for the year game.

No frikking way Carp doesn't bring his A game. Tie ball game 9th inning. Lidge vs. Pujols. Pujols replicates 2005 and Motte finishes the game.

How about we score 15 runs in the first inning and cruise from there.

Good ol' Philly fans - making an art form of being shitheads.

I'll give 'em credit, they've perfected it.

Should be a fun game tonight. I look for Carp to be lights out. On a sidenote, got a free $30 bet from bodog yesterday so I took tigers and under last night. Put all the winnings this morning on cards and under, diamondbacks and under, and boise state to win $2900 lol. Free money, what the heck.

Regardless of the outcome of the game, you're a ****ing douche.

I've seen the video, they just did not want to see Santa.

They did boo Schmidt regularly, Carlton less so.

Gamesmanship is just another word for cheating. I never bought the old line that if you aren't cheating, you aren't trying. I don't know of another stadium that has created a heckle zone.

I don't hate Philly fans. I went to a game in the Old Vet in '92 and had no problems depite the fact I was wearing Cardinal gear. That was when Philly was still in our division.

Cardinal fans will boo their guy if they feel he shouldn't be out there or isn't giving an effort, especially if he isn't giving an effort. We love guys like Rex Hudler but a talent like Milton Bradley wouldn't have lasted 10 minutes.

how much do you have to lose to get a "free" 30 bet from bodog?
