thats amazing and also said that if next year goes uncapped cassell would be a rfa so he's tied up for at least 2 years we have time to get a contract if ones not in place

Well Brees was considered a bust for the Chargers...so much so they drafted Rivers...who knows how he would have panned out for the Chiefs...

They got what, 4 good years out of him, if that? That's not what I'm looking for. The last younger QB I can think of that was traded was Matt Schaub. Again, I don't think there is much of a good history for teams that traded for a QB. Perhaps others can think of better examples.

Favre and Steve Young and not a helluva' lot since...

Clearly much better than staying at 12 and taking Drew Brees, as had been rumored.

I would have preferred that at the time, and especially now with hindsight.

Different scenario: Brees left Purdue after a full collegiate career where he set Big X passing records galore. The fact that he slipped into the second round is incredible.

Stafford, Sanchez, Davis <> Brees. The only potential exception may be Davis; but he's targeted in the second or third round.

So are you upset that we gave up our second round pick & probably cannot now draft Davis?

but let me say - as I was not for this - that getting him for a 2nd is palatable....assuming....of course...he isn't Scott Mitchell

Pioli rolls the dice....that's why we brought him in

here we go

wowowowowowowowowowowowowowowowowowowowow

it is crazy to see the team TAKING CHANCES! making bold moves! actually taking risks trying to get better!

He can't.

He's an immobile Tyler Thigpen; and I think Tyler Thigpen sucks.

This sucks.

fmylife

Cassel is a pretty mobile QB...

Stated next year is uncapped and would pay him 110% to stay the next year.

News up on espnnews...

Pasquarelli....nothing big

Mike smith...Brady healthy...Other teams made a hard push. Pioli wanted him. Says KC has no long term deal in place yet and Cassel still under 14mil 1 year deal...

If we could find some idiots to have traded a 4th for Donnie Edwards and Thigpen who would you think got the better deal?...
