Teacher kills herself day after being accused of 'inappropriate physical relationship' with student

A teacher took her own life a day after it was alleged that she had an inappropriate physical relationship with a young student.

Gretchen Krohnfeldt had been suspended from her job at the school in Denver, Colorado.

The following day, the 47-year-old mother of three took her own life in front of police officers who were approaching her home to question her as part of an investigation, CBS News reports.

Ms Krohnfeldt was reportedly suspended after a fellow member of staff reported witnessing an “inappropriate interaction” between her and a former student at the Drake Middle School.

Police were informed and launched an immediate and ongoing investigation.

"On Monday, May 8th, a Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officer was made aware of a possible inappropriate relationship between a female employee at Drake Middle School and a male student," Arvada police said in a statement.

A spokesman added that the boy is now attending an Arvada high school, but had been in a physical relationship with the teacher since middle school.

Local media report the pair had met at Ms Krohnfeldt's home, and that an employee saw an inappropriate interaction between Ms Krohnfeldt and the student months ago but only reported it to authorities earlier this week.

Students who attend middle school in the United States are usually between the ages of 12 and 14.
Ms Krohnfeldt's death is being investigated by a coroner.

In a letter to parents and students, Drake Middle School said grief counsellors were available to see both students and staff upset by Ms Krohnfeldt's death.

"Our hearts go out to her family at this painful time," the letter said, "and I know many will feel this loss deeply," it said.

I agree what she has done to them is ****ed. At the same time I like to think that hopefully their relationship within their extended family and possibly father might be a better situation than what crazy could provide. Maybe in some way she was as toxic to her children as she was within her profession. Though it sucks horribly for them I like to think there is a silver lining somewhere in the clouds for them.

An Alabama middle school teacher has turned herself in to law enforcement after being charged with sexual misconduct involving a male high school student.
Lawrence County Sheriff Gene Mitchell says investigators were tipped off that 27-year-old Taylor Brooks Boyles had been engaging in inappropriate sexual contact with an 18-year-old Lawrence County High School senior.
Boyes, a recently divorced math and social studies teacher at Moulton Middle School, has been charged with engaging in a sex act with a student younger than 19, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
Boyles, of Moulton, was released from jail after posting $10,000 bail.
Superintendent Jon Bret Smith tells the Moulton Advertiser county school officials learned of the allegations against Boyles on May 18. They then notified Mitchell, who began investigating.
Smith says Boyles is on paid leave pending the investigation’s outcome.
The superintendent says the alleged sexual encounters between the middle school teacher and the high school students didn’t take place on school property.

I had two smoking hot teachers over the years, one when I was in 9th grade Miss Healy, about 24-25 at the time . A Florida Chemistry teacher was arrested Thursday night after she allegedly had sex with a 17-year-old student in a car.
Tiffany Michelle Geliga, 35, was charged with two counts of sexual assault by a person 24 years of age or older on a 16 or 17-year-old victim, WFLA reported.

Police began investigating Geliga after Port St. Lucie High School administrators told them that a 17-year-old student’s mother contacted the school to report that the teacher texted her son many times at odd hours.

The woman said she believed nothing happened between her son and Geliga but suspected that she had an inappropriate relationship with another student.

School officials questioned that 17-year-old boy, who admitted to having sex with Geliga two times in her car on separate occasions and met her off campus in late April or early May, WPTV reports.

He added that he also received late-night phone calls and text messages from Geliga.

Investigators said the victim met Geliga two months ago when she began tutoring him at Indian River State College in Port St. Lucie, the Palm Beach Post reported.

They reportedly started text messaging each other after the victim sent a message requesting Geliga’s assistance in making an introduction to a female student.

Police initiated a controlled phone call between the 17-year-old and Geliga in which they monitored their conversation.

On the call, Geliga told the student she had “never done anything inappropriate with other students — just you,” and acknowledged that she had a sexual relationship with him. She then offered to foot the bill for a stay at a West Palm Beach hotel.

Geliga was released from the St. Lucie County Jail after she posted $30,000 bail Friday.

Geliga started teaching at Port St. Lucie High School back in August 2014 and is reportedly married with two children.
