@goldbergkc: 24-year old LHP Matt Strahm was 21st round draft pick in '12. 3-8, 3.43 this year in AA with 107K & 23 BB. Missed 2013 with TJ surgery

I don't give a shit if Davis' elbow is clean, so was Vargas':
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Jason Vargas said an examination revealed no damage to his UCL. He hopes he can play catch next week. Hopes he will only miss a few starts.</p>&mdash; Andy McCullough (@McCulloughTimes) <a href="https://twitter.com/McCulloughTimes/status/596763190383419392">May 8, 2015</a></blockquote>

@FlannyMLB: Ned also said MRI showed Davis' elbow was clean. #Royals

Let's just shut him down. There is no reason to risk anything. After all of the extra innings he has pitched he needs to just fully recover. I wouldn't mind limiting Herrera either.

Yep. And as I advocated for yesterday, I would rest players like Salvy and LoCain on a regular basis. Let's compensate for the long haul of the past two years. No use wearing everybody out to chase 75 wins

Deberg_1990 07-31-2016 11:08 AM

tank the season for the #1 overall!

On a unrelated baseball note, Ichiro 2 hits from 3K and Mattingly doesn't even give him a Saturday or Sunday start.

I wonder what the Royals consider their cutoff before they start resting guys on the reg and calling up the kids? 10 back in the wildcard by August 10, or what?

And shut Wade down, now. Make sure he's healthy for '17.

He still got him in both games though, right? I thought I had heard he went 0-3 or something this weekend so far.

But yeah, kind of a dick move.

Damn the Yankees are raking in the prospects!

They easily have the #1 farm system now.

And literally zero dollars on the 2018 payroll in a deep free agency year. Yankees are doing it right.

I'm starting to doubt it. Unless he finally puts together a full season in 2017 Hosmer is not the superstar that the Yanks are looking for.

I don't think the Yankees would even waste their time on Hosmer. It's not like his production will magically increase, even in that little league stadium over in the Bronx.

Hosmer has the second highest groundball percentage in all of baseball. Additionally, he is tied for 10th lowest in all of baseball in flyball percentage. Those numbers make any hopeful-increases in production at Yankee Stadium minimal and irrelevant. Unless Hosmer makes adjustments to his shitty swing, he is going to be a career nothing.

EDIT: Can you imagine the hilarity of Hosmer trying to pull baseballs to the short porch in right at Yankee Stadium 81 times a year?
