Who knows how Stanzi is going turn out, he is worth giving a shot for the rest of the season.

Especially considering many are still clamoring for Haley to stay put. ANY QB is going to have a difficult time on this team as long as he's coach. Asking them to work with numerous different offensive coaches (4 or 5 now?) plus Haley might be asking too much. Even for a seasoned vet.

And thinking Haley has the ability to develop a QB is insane. It's difficult even with the most experienced, patient, and brilliant coaches. None of which applies to Haley.

This is not good for us in the long run. I'd say chances are 50/50 we claim Orton. That would completely destroy any hope of seeing Stanzi this year and with it any chance of drafting a QB. Only good thing that can come out of it is Orton replaces Cassel.

This could be our moment to change history for the Chiefs. We going to let that go? If any thing Stanzi could play a series or two to get him wet. If he does well then continue to insert him in the games to follow more and more to bust his cherry ripe for next year. It's really time to change the mentallity of Chiefs & fans for the fear of rookie QBs & the Blackledge curse for any thing else is what we get to live with. It's our moment.

EGG-zackly.

Claiming Orton might actually SAVE US from the horrible future that awaits.

Alas, our next head coach can't stand him.

Who is our next head coach?

The only person that I know that has a relationship with him is McDaniels, and McDaniels traded for him.... and help him put up monster numbers one year.

If McDaniels comes in, then he will have Cassel and Orton sitting there with Stanzi to develop.

Dude, give it a rest. You might be the ONLY person on the face of the Earth that thinks have Josh McDaniels with Matt Cassel and Kyle Orton is a good thing.

Go ahead and tell us how we need to draft a left tackle in the 1st round and your transformation will be complete.

Perhaps you didn't notice the question. Who do you think is the next head coach?

With as absolutely awful as the Rams have been on offense this year, I think that McDaniels may be a coaching leper. That moron installed a system that his QB is completely incapable of executing.

I remember years ago thinking "With the way Herm has ruined the Jets, there is no way another team will sign him up as head coach. All those rumors of KC being interested in him must not be true."

Never underestimate the stupidity of the Hunt family when it comes to football.

For the record, I think McDaniels will be better than Haley. Especially if he has Pioli to control the personnel side of things and if he has a decent defensive coordinator.

As far as whether Cassel and Orton are a good thing..... well, you said the next head coach hates Orton. I was going to ask what your basis for that is. Looking at it from a coaches perspective, having two guys that know your system, have started games and played well for you at QB when you come to a team..... is a GOOD thing.

Remember how DV brought Trent Green in, with one of the biggest reasons being that he knew the system?

Remember how Todd Collins went to the Redskins mainly because he knew the system.

See, coaches like QB's who know their system. They are the coaches on the field. So, the better they know the scheme, the more the coaches can do with the scheme.

Now, as far as LT in the draft. I am a BPA/trade down draft guy. If there is a QB that is worthy of the pick, draft him. If not, don't reach for a guy like Sanchez/Clausen just to say you drafted a guy.

If the Chiefs draft top ten, then I would rather them get an impact guy. I would like to see an outside pass rusher, if I had my first choice other than QB. But, I am fine with the BPA.

This team has too many weaknesses to lock into one position.

Fansy the Famous Bard 11-23-2011 08:44 AM

if Josh McDaniels comes to KC I'll go to jail... period. Cause I'm gonna rage on some random motherf***** in a suupermarket.

Here is the thing. I think Haley is gone. I think that Pioli will look for someone that can fix the offense while retaining Cassel. I don't think Pioli believes Cassel is a 'great' QB, but I do think he believes that Cassel is the best QB option for next year.

McDaniels has a history with Cassel and has had a ton of success on the offensive side of the ball.

I could easily see Pioli tabbing him as the next HC for the Chiefs.

And, admittedly, IF the Chiefs are locked into Cassel, then I am fine with McDaniels because I believe he gives Cassel the best chance to be successful.

And, if we all agree that QB performance is one of the biggest keys to success, it extrapolates out to: McDaniels gives the Chiefs the best chance to be successful if Cassel is definitely the QB.

I would rather see a proven guy like Fisher or Cowher here. I just don't think it happens.
