Big thing was likely we went to Reid... we showed we wanted him more than anyone else.

Depends who you listen to nationally, it seemed Reid had his eye on San Diego but word is KC was his #1 target. Complete control, 1st pick and less venom from the press.

Seems like every stadium in America is doing that Seven Nation Army chant these days.

Bills hired Doug Marrone as head coach.

Marrone turned Syracuse's football program around and has extensive NFL experience, having coordinated the Saints' offense from 2006-2008 and overseen the Jets' offensive line from 2002-2005. He's also received strong recommendations from Bill Parcells, Mickey Loomis, and Sean Payton. In Buffalo, he'll be faced with turning around an offense that has been in the Top 20 just once since 2004. The Bills also interviewed Oregon's Chip Kelly on Friday and former Bears coach Lovie Smith on Saturday before ultimately agreeing to a deal with Marrone. We like the hire because Marrone is a run-minded offensive coach. The Bills have personnel ideally suited for a run-based offense.

Now Chip Kelly is "close to a deal" with the Eagles?

Sounds like he's going to Buffalo.

Thank God Clark didnt **** around and leave everyone hanging on nothing but a bunch of pointless rumors like the rest of these teams.

He went at it like a trained killer and didnt let up until he had his guy, still cant say enough good things about him.

UTKevinAcee ‏@UTKevinAcee “@Lando33: @UTKevinAcee Will the Chargers have a new GM by close of business today?” >They should. That's the plan. Lots of moving parts.

My money's on Jimmy Raye getting that job in SD.

Lovie Smith reportedly going to interview with Eagles. If I were an Eagles fan, I'd be pretty disappointed.

Legwold thinks if Mike McCoy gets a HC'ing job that Denver will bring in Norv Turner or Ken Whisenhunt to be their new OC.
Quote:

But if he does move on, look for Broncos coach John Fox to try to reel in an experienced hand to run the team's offense. The Broncos have got a good thing going on offense, and he's going to want to keep that momentum.

He's known Norv Turner a long time and the two are good friends. Turner would certainly be one of the first calls he would make.

Also, former Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt would be another potential candidate if he doesn't secure another head coaching job in the league.

And face it, if you're an offensive coach, working with the Broncos and Peyton Manning isn't going to harm your resume. It would be a popular job.

Manning does know both Turner and Whisenhunt well, so the transition would likely be fairly seamless there.

Broncos quarterbacks coach Adam Gase is on track to be an offensive coordinator in the league. The Broncos would consider that as well. It would just be a matter of deciding whether or not the 34-year-old is ready to be a play-caller on game day.

ChiefMojo 01-08-2013 03:14 PM

Watch for the name I won't speak of end up in Atlanta with his buddy.

There is ONE thing that makes Denver's offense a good thing, and that's Manning.

You could plug Herm Edwards in at OC and they would still kick ass.

Buck Like the move?

I'd be skeptical of any first-year assistants in that Indianapolis Colts franchise.

The first year of their rebuild should in no way be considered as successful as it is. That team still has a LOT of work to do if it wants to compete consistently in the NFL.

Assistants who were a part of that first year of the rebuild may be good, or they might not. There's no real way to tell. Kind of a risky GM hire if I'm the Chargers.

That being said, I can't imagine this guy being any worse than AJ Smith or Pioli. He's probably an upgrade.

This.

There is just way too much emotion going on there.

Now, you tell me we nabbed the guy in charge of last year's draft and I'm slapping bacon.

Raw.

But any coach there?

Too much $#it going on. It could easily be the "Romeo effect."
