I went to a game with a similar situation many years ago against Denver. I remember icicles were hanging down from the ribbon board around the middle deck. It was really cold, everything was coated with about a 1/4" glaze of solid ice. Seats were frigid, like sitting on a block of ice.

I've noticed Lezak has had a tendency to soften forecasts for Chiefs home games, maybe at the request of the Chiefs. Then you don't get the real story until about four hours before kickoff....

That said, I hope he's right. But I trust what the NWS says more.

He's played it conservative all week, which is probably smart since ice is such a tricky thing. You have to thread that needle between rain and snow.

Plus as much as people bag on the weatherman, if he calls for a big storm and it falls through, he'll probably take more heat than if he plays it safe. Unless of course this turns into a crippling ice storm. But the odds are that won't happen.
