Makes me appreciate the Royals 2015 championship even more, it's not easy to get back to the world series no matter how good your team is.

Even if the Royals win another title, that team was special. A lineup that could kill you 1-9 and a bullpen like that. There are teams that might have a better ace pitcher, or more power in the middle of the order... but once Rios got going in the playoffs they literally had a lineup where everyone was hitting, and a bullpen that would finish you if you were down after 5.

You've even seen that with this Indians team... great offense, but some guys slumped in this series. The 2015 Royals made every single at-bat a grind. There were no weaknesses. There's a reason Joe Buck said it might be the best team he's ever covered.

Was still rooting for the Yankees though, the Indians can go get ****ed.

Though the 2 extra runs didn't factor in the final score, those were 2 fantastic ab's by Frazier and Gardner against Allen in the top of the 9th. If Cleveland goes out in the top and gets a quick 1-2-3 inning, down by 1, there's at least a glimmer of hope in the bottom. But Frazier and Gardner fouled off a 100 pitches and lulled that defense to sleep, leading to a defensive error and killed any hope they had against Chapman.

I don't care for the Yankees, but I got no love for Cleveland either.

Hardly shocking. The Yanks are a great team. Base Runs expected record:

1. Cleveland 107-55
2. Spankees 102-60

Spanks were an incredible 11 games worse than their expected record (and 10 worse than expected run difference). They were statistically one of the most unlucky teams I've seen in these charts the past decade.

A really dumb challenge by Baker..... not sure what the Nationals saw that warranted a challenge.

Coach 10-12-2017 06:22 PM

And the Nationals dodge a potential major damage.

Looks like Babe Murphy decided to show up. Tie game.

Coach 10-12-2017 07:22 PM

4-3 Nats now after a wild pitch and a fielders choice.

The Cubs are getting Bumgarnered with Scherzer.
