I just got an email from Frank Haith!

Tiger Nation,

We cannot thank you enough for your support so far this season. Tonight at 5 pm we take on Baylor for the Big 12 Tournament Championship at the Sprint Center. We hope you are able to be there in person in Kansas City.

Please arrive early and BE LOUD. We need you to help us create a home court advantage at the Sprint Center. We want to hear that Black & Gold pride tonight. Help us show the nation that this is Kansas City, MISSOURI!

Our coaches, team and staff are proud to represent the University of Missouri and with your support we can bring home the Big 12 Championship to Columbia tonight. Please come out and support these young men that have poured there heart and soul into Mizzou Basketball.

Thank you & Go Tigers!

Coach Frank Haith

p.s. Please join us tomorrow for our Selection Sunday Event at Mizzou Arena! Doors open at 4 pm.

I couldn't care less about a 1 seed. The real prize is the St. Louis region, 1 or 2 seed.

If we're playing in St. Louis, I like our chances against any team in the country.

I was just looking at Joe Lunardi's prospective brackets and noticed that he has Mizzou potentially facing off against Matt Painter's Boilermakers in the round of 32, fwiw.

Mizzou needs this win if they want any shot at a possible #1 seed. I think if they win, they will take KUs #1 seed from them. I can't see how a 6 loss KU team that did not win the tournament, nor even make it to the finals gets a #1 over a 4 loss Mizzou team that wins their tournament, especially seeing how they split the regular season series.

As of today...

Team 1:
3-3 vs Top 25
10-3 vs Top 50
SoS - 80
Non-con SoS - 311
#16 RPI
#8 KenPom
#7 Sagarin

Team 2:
7-4 vs Top 25
11-5 vs Top 50
SoS - 6
Non-con SoS - 50
#6 RPI
#4 KenPom
#4 Sagarin

There's really no need to talk about conspiracy or "the name on the jersey" if KU ends up in St. Louis (and you there will be butthurt no matter who gets St. Louis). KU lost to a team that was in the top 5-10 for most of the season, and even if Missouri wins today, the numbers won't favor Missouri.

That said, I could see KU getting the 4th #1 in Phoenix and MU going to St. Louis as a #2... if Missouri wins today, the numbers will be close enough that outside of SoS, it's pretty much a coin toss.

You've called the NCAA tournament both a gimmick and a crapshoot in the past here, by the way. Probably because that's what it is.

Does KU's loss last night count as a 1 or less since they weren't trying and the games don't count

I think it would be funnier if they believed that it's a conspiracy, though, when it happens.

If team #1 is Missouri, then they are actually 6-1 against teams ranked in the top 25(ISU, KU, Notre Dame and Baylor) and Kansas is 6-5(Duke, Kentucky, Baylor, MU, OSU and Georgetown).

The committee predominantly looks at RPI to seed teams, not polls made by people who don't watch the games.

Pretty much shows what you know in regards to the sport...

Here's a balloon. Now go play, and don't talk to strangers.

Might take your own advice since you don't have any game to watch tonight

I was going off what Sagarin showed... maybe they use the rankings at the time?

Sagarin's ratings have nothing to do with polls. The records you showed were referring to the Ws/Ls vs. the top 50 on his formula.

You'll have to forgive me if I keep posting in the Mizzou thread despite your complaints.
