2 of my kids and I caught 33 Dorado off Cocoa Beach, FL way back. My son was 8 at the time. He got seasick and wound up chumming for us. After that, BANG, BANG, BANG.

Who took us out? None other than Capt. Ralph!

Its time to drag-out the old bank-lines.. the Flathead should be starting to feed-up for winter..the water is cooling down and they should be feeding ....

I live in Washington, and its getting close to steelhead and salmon season up here. :)
You can't beat the Northwest when it comes to fishing.

Current river 1 month ago, fished 3 days, several small trout, 4 over 3 lbs. had pics on my phone, but phone ended up in the bottom of the creek. It was beautiful and so nice to be in the cool cool water all day.

They’re out moving around.
I checked with MDRB last night and he’s been running the line since last weekend, kicking back anything under 20# and he has two more flat heads in his stock tank cleaning out.
You know what else is moving around? Gar. Said he’s cut several of those off the line also.

Redrum, clear your PMs.

Hit the Little Red River yesterday (day after Thanksgiving). I got there at about 5:30 am to try to beat the crowds. I had limited success as others started rolling into the parking lot just as I was rigging up, but I did end up in what was probably the best run on the river that day. Massive browns moving in to spawning mode. I landed 3 over 5 lbs, one probably went around 8 lbs, causing me to cross the river twice and chase it 100 yards downstream before I got it turned and positioned myself below it in the current. Also landed numerous smaller browns. I left the river by 9:30am, because my reel screwed up. Freaking awesome morning on the river.

I can't believe this thread hasn't been bumped at all this year.

I went down to Bennett Springs last weekend with 3 other buds. We had a cabin rented and put away some tasty beverages Friday night and got up early to slay some trout on Saturday. We fished the Niangua River just below the springs and didn't have a lot of luck. Managed to catch three with only one worth keeping.

After a late breakfast/early lunch we went back and fished the springs in the park. We didn't have much better luck, only hooking a couple of more smallish trout.

More beverages were consumed Saturday night and back up again early Sunday morning for a few hours of fishing before it was time to head back home. On a tip, we headed back into the river, but further down from where we fished Saturday. The fishing was much better as I landed 17 rainbows and filled my stringer with a limit of four nice sized keepers.

Al-in-all, it was a great weekend. The fishing Sunday certainly made up for the slow grind on Saturday.

I hadn't been to Bennett in about 5 years, so I am looking forward to making this an annual trip.

Was the water up?
The Neosho has been up and rolling all summer long.
Fished it last Friday night and all I caught was a little #3 flat head.

I couldn't tell. It has been a long time since I had been down there, but it looked pretty normal and the water was fairly clear.

I’ve seen Bennett Springs up and it’s really cloudy. If you didn’t notice it probably wasn’t up more than normal.
Sounds like you had fun.
I miss dry fly fishing for rainbows, that’s just loads of fun.

I'm fairly new to fly fishing. For the most part, we fished ultra-lights with Power Bait. In fact, all the trout I caught were on the ultra light. I only used the fly rod Saturday afternoon and got shut out.

I've caught bluegill and bass out of my dad's pond with the fly rod, but never a trout.

Not much fishing from me this year. I lost my honey hole, when my neighbor's horse farm was turned into a Federal Horse Import and Export farm. Since I don't work on their farm, im not allowed on the property. I fished off some rocks at Alum Creek last week in the early morning and caught a few big gills. My brother landed a couple 13-15 inch smallies, but nothing spectacular.

Oh man, rainbows on a fly rod are fun. Doesn't take a very big rainbow to have a lot of fight in him.

I am going go a pond on some of our property up near pattonsburg this weekend. I usually get into a few legit 4 oand 5 lb largemouth. My son caught a real nice 17 inch crappie out of our pond yesterday. It was the biggest one taken out of there yet. I haven't fished bennet in probably 4 years. Last time I was there, we tore up rainbows just below the brindge that is just below the low water dam. We used fly rods with little 1/64th oz white jig/pupa imitations.
