Whaaat we turned down OU? That's bullshit especially since they claim it's academic reasons.

Did someone at OU piss off the Big 10?

Mizzou would do fine in the SEC.

That is funny considering that Mizzou was an above average football program, at best in the Big 12 North.

Now put them in the best football conference in America... good luck with that one.

I hear Oklahoma, OK State and 2 other B12 schools approached Big Ten as package and were told no. Academic reasons.

Oklahoma I'd want in the big 10, but other than Missouri I don't think I'd want anybody else. Certainly not OK state. Watch the other schools involved but not named be Iowa State and Colorado State or something reeruned like that.

I think TAMU is going to be coming back to the Big 12 with their tail between their legs...

KC media could have possibly three different conferences to be covering...SEC, PAC-16, Big 8, Big East, MWC or Conference USA.

They'd have to extend the sports by 5 minutes to give each conference equal time!

I agree that it would be a much tougher hill to climb, much tougher - but not impossible. I'm terrified of Alabama - absolutely terrified of them. That team should damn near never lose. Auburn's gonna be fun to smack around a little bit in a couple years when the sanctions from the Newton deal finally come (and they will). Florida seems poised to take a bit of a step back.

But MU has acquitted itself nicely against a lot of its SEC opponents and they are finally starting to build the talent on the O and D lines that could allow them to compete.

Bottom line: MU has no choice. I'd much prefer see them take a B10 offer, but they don't have one. If they get an SEC invite, they have to take it. It's only a matter of time until UT gets a network deal and goes independent. Then the music stops and there just might not be a chair for us.

The problem being in the SEC isn't one team. It's having a stretch where you play Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, LSU, Georgia and Auburn back to back to back etc...

Vandy, Ole Miss, Kentucky and Miss State are the only teams in the SEC that one plans on beating every year. Except you don't get to play them every year, and sometimes they are actually good.

KcMizzou 08-13-2011 11:45 PM

Mizzou's kicked the shit out of aTm the past few years.

Over at Arizona boards, we think the pac 12 is going to try for ou osu Texas and Texas tech. The long horn network seems to be the big sticking point. Texas fans are wondering if that network was worth it. It seemed to piss everyone off.

Why would the Pac 12 want Texas? So Texas can **** that conference up to.
Texas aint going to belong to anything or anybody BUT ESPNTEXAS. Which is a big fail at the moment. ROFL

KcMizzou 08-14-2011 12:11 AM

If Texas would just agree to make it the "Big 12" network... they might save the conference.

Everybody wants Texas. $$$$$

Bewbies 08-14-2011 12:58 AM

It is kind of funny that Texas is the one wrecking everything. Maybe they'll end up Indy and blacklisted so nobody will play em.

Now that would be funny. LMAO
