I understand the need for depth, but good lord...

I'm not pointing at you by any means. But a large portion of people on here don't like Belcher. But they haven't even given him a chance. That bothers me.

it bothers you?

Big news.

MarkHerzlich Mark Herzlich
For everyone I have not signed with anyone yet and am still making my decision. Thank you for support and I will give official word tomorrow

I hope he lands in a spot where he has a real chance to get on the field early.

I dont really think his body will allow him a normal career length.

Id love to be wrong though, hes white and has one of the best attitudes of anyone.

reminds me of the football armstrong.

It's a tad irritating.... Not like I lose sleep over it.

Just looking at his stats he didn't even rank in the Top 50 in tackles last year.

Jovan is looking like he could become a very good player. I don't understand the point of going after a guy like Ruud, who would get absolutely dominated as a 3-4 backer. On the very big "if" that David Harris is a free agent, I'm still on the boat for picking him up. Unlike Ruud, Harris is a proven 3-4 backer and should be a pro bowler--no idea why he's not.

Question... who here would be willing to trade a first to get Lamar Woodley?

I am almost always against trading away first round picks, but man, to get a young player at a position that's extremely difficult to get? Imagine how good this defense would be with Hali and Woodley playing opposite each other.

Wondering if it's a possibility. Steelers are $10M over the cap and have to sign their rookies and re-sign Ike Taylor. And they've never been shy about shipping off an expensive player in their prime.

because he isnt as good as Mayo or Ray Lewis

that was easy.

No. Pioli is finally start to make good decisions in the first round, so that sounds like a horrible idea.

Perhaps they should give Studebaker and the pretty awesome dude they just drafted, a chance.

No way.

Before the draft? sure

Houston and Studebaker are our two LOLBs

Id be fine with Studebaker as depth, but Houston needs to be on the field.

Fair point. But still.. borderline pro bowler in that context is pretty damn good.

BossChief 07-25-2011 11:23 PM

Get our own kids deals extended, first off.

then

Give me Kelly Gregg, Eric Weddle and re-sign Shaun Smith for the defense to go with Free, Breaston and McClain for the offense.

Mix in a few guys to push the depth....get the draft picks signed and lets get this ****ing team back to the damn playoffs.

Anything more than that would be icing on the cake.

The Bad Guy 07-25-2011 11:23 PM

Look at all the Steeler OLBs that leave and you know what else leaves?

Their production.

Lance Moore is a far better fit with no injury history.

I also don't see any way possible the Chiefs pay Eric Weddle. He's going to get 7 mill a year and that's too much when Lewis is ascending and Berry is well, Berry.

That's not 100 percent true.

Joey Porter had his best season after leaving Pitt.

That's debatable. He might have had more sacks, but he wasn't a more complete player at any time than when he was a Steeler.
