In corporations I've worked for, it is always easier to take over something when there is a transition period. If you walk into a mess, it takes time to sort through it. Whoever the new coach is, they will likely be able to hire a new GM if they wish, but more than likely will be stuck with most of Pioli's scouts and lieutenants until after the draft, when personnel contracts usually expire. Either that or Clark is just delusional in thinking that a new coach would take Pioli as his GM. But he did the same thing with Herm... |

We've been told over and over and over that this team is Scotts baby. All his work. It was a total embarrassment, the HC he hired was awful and the season was epically bad. Now we are rationalizing keeping the man in charge of all of it? Either Clark makes the right move and fires Scott NOW, or realize that this franchise is a shitpile and move on. |
maybe I'm just emotionally detached from being angry with this team anymore BUT...
if Hunt hires a HC and tells Pioli "sorry bro, he's got final say!" much like Belichick had in New England I just think it would be hilarious. Would I rather see Pioli get the boot? Absolutely. BUT I'm willing to let things play out before I exert any negative energy. Right now I'm worried about QB. ALSO I think the statement from Clark was pretty decent. Lots of implied Pioli bashing...especially where he says "I will immediately begin the search for the next head coach of the Chiefs." Whatever though. I'm not upset yet. That's TBD |

At first I hated this decision, but I think that Pioli will be our Wes Welker.
