In fact, Smith played quite well down the stretch despite his number one receiver playing very mediocre. Unlike last season, our receivers decided this season to be the second worst in dropped passes

My biggest problem with Smith has always been pocket presence. He doesn't step away and make plays. Even Chase Daniel was vastly superior in this aspect when he stepped in. He panics, scrambles and despite his mobility has zero ability to throw on the run. It's shock8ng when he completes a pass when a play breaks down. This last loss wasn't all his fault, the whole offense blew, but it's time to move on or at least groom a replacement. He's good enough to get you there, but he's not good enough to win these games.
