I like the playoff format to a degree, but I don't like that there are 64 teams in it. Give me a 16 team tournament to decide the championship, maybe even a double-elimination tourny.

So you'll miss out on some upsets - so? With that short 3pt line, even the upsets have almost become cliche at this point. All the upsets really serve to do is make for shittier basketball once the Sweet 16 rolls around.

I'm a large conference snob; always have been. I don't care about mid-majors and I'm beyond tired of listening to Boise St fans bitch (though I think TCU had a legit gripe 3 years ago; that team was legit...though probably high). Championships really should be about figuring out who the best team all season was. The BCS does a far better job of figuring that out than the NCAA tournament does. I believe it's Wicklock that says CFB isn't a real sport because it doesn't have a playoff system, but CFB has been far more reliable in getting their champion right over the last 10-15 years than the MCBB has been.

The BCS has the perfect system if they want a playoff. Take the top 8 and seed it out.

I also think that the CBB tourney has gotten too large. It really has to many shitty teams. Like you said, take the top 16.

So I heard a little of KK yesterday and all the guy could do was piss on MU's parade with a few sprinkles of comments that made him sound like he wasn't. Seriously, WTF is this guy's issue with MU?

It's the last time I'll ever listen to him. I switched to 610 and henceforth in this Kingdom I'll listen to Wright or nothing. He's just unabashadly anti-Mizzou at this point but he'll kick and scream if you call him on it. He doesn't even try to be objective about it now.

He got burned so badly by the B1G thing, then made look so foolish by his squawking over the SEC (he makes the Beakers look positively dignified) that he just can't stand to give Mizzou credit for anything.

Or just flat hang up on a caller that does.

Agreed on all counts. The tournament's current format is largely a luck-filled crapshoot (and a poor way of determing who the best team in the country is). Watch out, though, as I was criticized for expressing this same opinion in this thread a few days ago.

Lunch time. I like the two minute drill thing... a little from all around the country. I actually like the Gottlieb days too. He's not a popular guy with Mizzou fans. (Don't think he likes Mizzou very much in general) But he's candid in a way that very few guys in his position are. He and Petro give each other a lot of shit... it's entertaining.

KK may have actually cost SSJ a listener for their last hour.

I listened to Danny Perkins today when I got into the office because that's what my streaming audio player was on and I forgot to flip over. Honestly - he was pretty damn good.

The Border Patrol guys do a little too much clownin' in the mornings and don't seem to really add anything. If I'm in early, I'll listen to them because I can't stand that ****stain Fescoe; but I actually think I'll listen to Perkins when his show starts - he seems pretty good.

Other than Petro, there's not much to stay on 810 for anymore. And KK has really been the anchor that's bottomed that station out.

The Monday morning after the Baylor win, I was looking forward to some Mizzou talk on my drive in to work and instead was treated to 20-25 minutes of discussion about the Grammy's and Whitney Houston's death.

TBP in the morning is ok. Petro is good, really good during baseball season. Wright in the afternoon. I actually caught the 3 hour lunch once this week, it was mentioned in the realignment thread. Pretty decent if you want a break from local sports. They were talking SEC basketball, which didn't interest me at all this week. Should be pretty good once CFB starts back up though.

Danny Parkins is a ****ing reerun. I remember a few weeks back him just bashing the hell out of the Chiefs for interviewing Philbin for the OC position and at the same time praising the Dolphins for talking about winning. Then he had nothing to say after the Dolphins hired Philbin for the HC job. Acted like he never even said it.

Anyone else worried about today's game? A & M was supposed to compete for the league title but fell apart, but they get a couple of guys back from injury today.

We have three road games left, but one is TT. I know Lawerence is going to be incredibly tough. This game has me worried, I don't want the team pulling an OSU out of their hat at the wrong time. They have to be feeling some pressure, since they know KU is winning today against TT. Hopefully they can come out and hit some early shots and take the moxy out of A & M. How has attendance been down there? The less fans the better...have they had Oklahoma type crowds, or are they still selling out despite their bad season?
