Lack of containing Decker and drops by Avery is what cost this game for the Chiefs....

you had nice long drives that frustrate Manning but you just couldn't stop Decker.

jd1020 12-01-2013 07:36 PM

Avery (or maybe it was Jenkins) had a good catch on the sideline but ended up 2 yards short of the first down because Alex threw the ball way the **** out of bounds.

Things that hurt the cause today:

1. Drops all over the place
2. Cooper burned like Mike "Toast" Brown used to get burnt
3. The intentional grounding on Smith
4. The leg whip by Denver non-call while a hold on us on the same play
5. McCluster's dumb dumb play to field a punt at the 3 and get creamed-killed all offensive mojo
6. Lack of pressure in second half
7. No important stops on their 3rd down-they picked up so many 3rd and 8 or 3rd and 11 or 3rd and 9 all day long
8. Their RB's picked up chunks at the worst time
9. We still can't defend the pick play after 3 straight weeks-Sutton is an ass
10. NO ADJUSTMENTS at half
11. Too little Charles late in game
12. Play calling sucked after our lead

Hard to beat a team like Denver with what we failed at

Positives
1. Junior Hemingway played great
2. Alex Smith play very well
3. Knile Davis showed why we drafted him on some runs and that awesome 108 KO return
4. Charles just pounds the ball and had close to 100 yds rushing with a 4.9 avg
5. Derrick Johnson and Eric Berry tackling machines
6. Poe played well again

That's all I can think of

So that is 5 drops versus 3 good catches.

Yep thanks for making my point.

You are arguing with people who think Bowe getting his fingertips on a pass, while doing all he could to catch the ball, is a drop and Bowe is a pos who's a #2 WR.

There is no gray on Chiefsplanet.

Dropped passes wasn't the reason why we lost this game, it was the defense giving up a million yards and once again couldn't sack the QB.

ROFL...that those three posts appeared in that order.

But he was… the stats show that… dropped passes outnumbered "great catches".

Manning was benefitted by perhaps the same # of "great catches", but the difference is his WR's dropped nothing the entire game.

I am amazed that you, with your lame attempts to be so "nuanced" can't see that obvious fact.

The thing about dropped passes is that there isn't really an acceptable number in the NFL. Dropped passes should be like errors in the outfield in baseball. Maybe a receiver should get one or two over the course of a season. The ratio of great catches to dropped passes should be 5:1 or 10:1 at the NFL level, not 1:1.

SMH you couldn't be more wrong professor.

LMAO I was defending Cooper being a rookie and shouldn't be left in that situation today.

Keep trying though. Keep making up narrative and keep working on being superior to everyone else.

I didn't say a single word about Cooper, dipshit. ****, you are terrible at this.

I was using an example. JFC I would expect you would be smart enough to catch on.

Then perhaps Manning's receivers played an amazing game and Smith's played a subpar one, and perhaps there is a continuum on which we can evaluate performance that isn't worst ever or best ever with no middle ground?

Just maybe?

GloryDayz 12-01-2013 07:39 PM

And I love how Alex Smith blew it all off.. Wow, he is one lethargic asshole with not enough talent to back it up and say, "watch what I do to you on the field."

Yep. We had two extra possessions in the 1st quarter after the two INTs and a kick return TD. Then we forgot we had Jamaal Charles and proceeded to revert back to our shell.

.. But to Alex's passes, the Jenkins and McCluster catches in the 4th quarter were great and so were Hemingway and Fasano's TDs. Hemingway's TD had no business being that close to the back of the endzone and Fasano's only hit his outstretched finger tip, luckily he was able to tip it back.

So this game isnt a continuum that we can compare?

Damn that sucks. Given it was a 7 point game and all.
