So we basically signed two players for 1st round money (Starling and Brickhouse), and five players for 2nd round money (Gallagher, Smith, Leonard, Lopez, Junis). That is one hell of a way to build up the next wave of young talent.
All seven of them are high schoolers, and cost the Royals around $13 million. |
Here is a nice write-up from Greg Schaum's website detailing how we have restocked the cupboard with this draft and our huge international signings.

Hey, I'm glad they signed Bubba. They've slung around a sackful of green this year...around $13 million total...but they have the money to spend since our payroll is so low. I'm glad they're finally spending it. That's all good. And if we keep losing this year, and pass Baltimore, we'll get the second pick behind Houston next year. Don't get me wrong. Today is a good day, and one of the few days I feel a twinge of optimism for the Royals. But a time is coming very soon where they need to put up or shut up. |
So are they still on pace for 90-95 losses this season? Ive lost interest over the past month or two.
