Full disclosure: AO is my all-time favorite Royal.
I just pulled my copy of the 1984 Bill James Abstract off the shelf and re-read his wonderful essay on Otis, in which he addressed those fans for whom AO never could do enough to impress. |
My this time next week, the Royals will be above .500.

The only piece that was better was the essay on the 1985 Cardinals during their apoplectic reactions in Game 7. And his short piece on Danny Ainge who played 3B for the Jays while in college. His description? "Dribble, dribble😀😀 |

Just gonna sit back and watch Bill handle this |
Lemee see if I have this right. We have Orlando hitting about .330 whilst Mssrs Gordon, Hosmer, Perez, Morales and Cain are all batting like shit, and you're dissing Orlando??? What is wrong with you people???
In my view, Orlando has done nothing but improve in his time with the Royals. Announcers suggested that both he and Cuthbert were the two guys who were working diligently with Sveum. Not hearing that about our "veterans". I believe it's time to give kudos to Orlando and level your disappointment at said vets. They're the ones killing this team. |

Otis won 5 division titles and one AL pennant. 11/23 in the 1980 WS. I don't know why I'm wasting my time. Bill James article referenced above was written because of shallow thinkers like you. |
