you can never really tell from Spring training. Callaspo has hit well and Greinke has pitched well, other than that who knows. It will take a break out year from more than a couple guys for us to really do anything special
|
Aviles is hitting well, too. They should have some flexibility around the infield.

With established pitchers, their spring training stats mean shit because the player is likely working on a single pitch.
For example, the focus for the entire spring for a guy like Greinke could be to improve his change. He doesn't give a **** if he gives up hits/runs because his ability at the ML level isn't in doubt. That's why his ERA was a joke last spring. |
Zack dog was working on his Fastball yesterday Fastball only!

Your KC Royals: Spring Cactus league Champions!!!
Spring training holds about as much weight as pre seasoon football. |
I went to my first Spring Training game of this year yesterday. What I saw:
Podsednik looked damn good. 2-2 with a triple and 2 runs scored and a gret catch in the OF. Butler continues to look great at the plate Yuney had two errors on one play AC had an error DeJesus was in right, had a decent day. All-in-all, same old Royals I am afraid. |
If Butler continues to develop, we won't be the same ol' Royals for long.

Will Hillman/Moore allow it, though, with Betancourt (puke) and Getz on the roster?

My problem with Getz is that he's yet another ****ing utility guy whom our manager can fall in love with and force into the lineup every ****ing day.
See: Gload, Bloomquist, etc. My problem with Betancourt is that he ****ing sucks. |
