It's all about the $'s. Texas has the $'s. All the conferences want $'s. Texas will have all the suitors at their door begging for them to grace them with their presense. Count on it.

The people have UT have egos... they'll want to try and lure teams to the Big 9, I just can't see them going to a conference where they may have to work a bit to be in the top 3.

I say kick out Baylor and change the name back to the Big 8. We never should have let those Texas schools in. All they did is **** up a great conference.

Texas won't go to a conference where they won't be THE big cheese. They have their own network. You think Alabama or Florida would let that fly? No way. You think USC or Cal would let that Fly? No way. Texas is on an island right now.

Texas wouldn't be sharing a penny of that network dollar.

And thats the reason that Texas won't be able to attract a "big name" school to join the Texas controlled Big 12.

Kansas, Baylor, Kansas State, Iowa State and Texas Tech will bow to Texas's wishes to suck on the Texas tit. But will Oklahoma and any other "big name" school?

Me thinks that Kansas should GTFO and create the best basketball conference in america. Surely, there is value and money in having the best basketball being played in a single conference?

There's a reason that the Big XII won't be able to add a big name team, and it has nothing to do with Texas. There is too much dead weight in the conference. Teams like Tech, Iowa State, Baylor and, to a lesser extend, KSU really bring nothing to the table. Colorado could have been lumped into that group except that they brought in a major media market. You can't have that much dead weight in a conference of 9-10 teams and hope to survive.

As far as KU "creating" some conference, I'm not sure how you expect them to do that. The Big East is already that conference. I don't think anyone's going to leave that conference to go rogue with Kansas.

We want the Texas market but we would only take them on our terms. Hence why they need to get rid of the lhn.

Hopefully this is just Alden learning his lesson from last time.

If he honestly got an invite to the SEC and turned it down to stay in this dying conference, he deserves to be drawn and quartered.

The B12 will be gone in 5 years, we'd damn well better have a safety net for that occurrence.

March Madness is my favorite college sports event... but all this stuff is driven by football. KU's football program going in the tank probably hurts them, although I'm sure someone would find value in the basketball program. But football is where the big money is coming from for these "conference" networks. KU might be forced to just tag along with the Oklahoma schools.

Look at the Big East... they are great at basketball, and even they went and added TCU just because of football, despite it being a weird fit.
