Nah, that would be letting him off easy. The worst punishment would be him living a long life knowing just how badly he ****ed up.

Driving that fast is worse than the dui aspect of it. Vehicular manslaughter like that gets you years in prison. Never mind the 2 year minimum. He may end up pleading guilty and sentence where parole date would be more than 5 years out.

I wonder what his passenger was thinking. Disgraceful behavior.

It was his gf...no idea why she got in the car with him.

for anyone asking how he survived a car crash at such a high speed, he didn't. Ruggs' life as he knew it, is over.

this is what karma likes to do with drunk drivers that kill other people, so they can spend the rest of their numbered days on earth living out a preview of their eternity in hell

Ruggs must also wear a device to monitor drinking and other controlled substances.

Didn't know there was anything that would do that.

Sad thing is Ruggs best friend was killed in a drunk driving accident and now he goes ahead and does the same shit. Wonder if he even cared at all

I don't remember alcohol being a factor in that incident. I thought he was killed in a bad weather accident where he was ejected from the car as a passenger not wearing his seatbelt.

Yeah really, some engineers at General Motors are probably happy that the car they designed was tested out so well by a drunk football star.

I would not be surprised if the Toyota was rolling at normal speed for that road. Or if driver was not on the brakes.

I think there was.

There was a scenario here in which I could have said he was a normal person who made a bad decision and did a scummy thing. With all of these details revealed, it’s apparent that he is actual scum.

I’ve seen guys with a wearable alcohol monitor, but I don’t know if the technology is available to monitor other substances.

He was going 156 in a residential neighborhood not even a highway

That’s insane. A quick google earth streetview search shows the speed limit is 25 on the road he was driving on.

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -- Former Raiders player Henry Ruggs III was traveling 156 mph prior to a fatal crash early Tuesday morning in Las Vegas, according to prosecutors.

Ruggs made his initial court appearance Wednesday on multiple felony charges after the fiery crash that left a 23-your-old woman and her dog dead. Ruggs appeared in court wearing a neck brace.

In addition to traveling at 156 mph seconds before the crash, prosecutors said he was driving 127 mph when the air bag deployed.

Ruggs also had a loaded fire arm in the vehicle, according to prosecutors.

Prosecutors added that Ruggs was argumentative and uncooperative with police. They state that he had an alcohol level .161 , which is more than twice the legal limit two hours after. It is also illegal to have a firearm at that point, they noted.

Judge Joe Bonaventure set bail at $150,000, with electronic monitoring. As part of the stipulations, Ruggs must also wear a device to monitor drinking and other controlled substances. He cannot drive and must surrender his passport.

156 MPH on city streets?

Yeah **** him.

BTW Blackop, 156 MPH is exactly how you get rear ended and then burst into flames.

And I don't give a **** if it's a Hummer or a goddamn Hyundai. A fuel line is a fuel line and spark is spark.

156 mph on a surface street? Before I left Germany, I rented a BMW with the intent of going as fast as I could possibly go on the autobahn. I only had the nerve for 260KPH (about 160 mph) on a pretty much empty stretch made to accommodate that kind of speed. Anyone going that fast on a Vegas road is criminally reckless.

Ever been through residential Vegas? The streets are wide, long and new. Plenty of open space for a 22 year old drunk jackass in a sports car.

It doesn’t look like a street that would be 25 mph speed limit. I would have guessed 45 at the first glance. Those streets remind me of Phoenix which definitely give you room to haul ass if you want.
