I've pretty much lived an entire life eating junk processed food. My current diet is about a 60-40 ratio of junk food to home cooking (even my home cooking is kinda junky).

I currently weigh about 15lbs more than i did in HS (at age 38) and fall in the Normal/Healthy weight range for my height.

BUT, i also stay pretty active on the weekends with recreational sports and often workout 3-4 days a week during the spring and summer.

Calories in/calories out is the simplest way to maintain your weight for the average person.

A big issue with highly processed food is that it is generally very high cal so people struggle to not take in excess calories. You can sit down with a bag of chips and a soda and take in 500 calories in 15 minutes and still be hungry. It's terrible.

Me too. Especially when I have scampi.

I hate breakfast too and especially hate eggs.

I'll have an English muffin occasionally, maybe a Post Great Grains Banana Nut Crunch cereal or a rare BLT sandwich but the ONLY time I like breakfast is when I go on vacation.

Then the breakfast buffet at the hotel is good and I can relax. Pancakes with Banana and Walnuts inside are my go to with a side of sausage links, extra crispy hash browns, plate of tropical fruit, decaf coffee and freshly squeezed OJ.

Man, eggs are a staple. Very valuable as a source of protein and vitamins. I can't imagine not eating eggs.

Too much sodium. If any salt, pepper or butter gets on them might as well just throw them in the garbage cuz they will kill you.

Dude, first of all of course you wouldn't add salt or butter.

By themselves, the average egg has about 65g of sodium which is still only 3% of the daily allowance.

I meet with my surgeon and care coordinator twice a year. A nutritionist once a year. They have a map of all protein sources and their value to an overall diet.

Eggs will not kill you. Quite the opposite, actually.

Is it better than the Crispy Melt Tacos?

htismaqe 02-24-2023 04:05 PM

By the way, if you're using egg substitutes as a mitigator against cholesterol consumption, stop.

They have 10 times the amount of sodium as an egg.

I buy the bags of hard boiled eggs

No salt, no butter, just grab and smash as a snack

Last summer I had the Chicken Caesar Wrap from Jimmy Johns, it was amazing, I hope they have that again this summer.

This is why I eat so much sodium, I apparently. This poor son of a bitch didnt eat enough salt to get enough iodine. You don't want to get a goiter do you?
