He has to have as much or more potential than Smith.

There's a lot of Routt in Sean Smith.

If you can get him for an easily escapable contract, go right ahead. But if you give him a bunch of money with some heavy cap penalties for cutting him in year 2...well that's probably not going to work out terribly well.

He has a lot of talent and occasional flashes of real skill...but he might suck for good and that's a contingency you need to be prepared for.

Bleacher Report is now predicting Milliner to go #1 overall to KC.

1. Kansas City Chiefs—CB Dee Milliner, Alabama

After the Chiefs tagged Branden Albert (h/t NFL Network's Ian Rapoport), it seems clear that Luke Joeckel won't be the pick here.

Milliner secured his status as the draft's top cornerback with a blazing-fast 40 time of 4.37 seconds at the combine, and he'll be a cornerstone player for the Chiefs defense for years to come.

Our Defense would be scary so long as we get some good defensive line play.

Milliner even at #1 overall will still be a cheaper contract than what Sean Smith will get

RustShack 03-06-2013 02:37 PM

Based on those stats, sounds like we are better off with Routt...

I checked the other mocks for updated predictions. That is the only one predicting Milliner. The others are mostly saying Joeckel and McShay is saying Star Littleweenie.

Once more - this time with feeling.

"Bleacher Report" doesn't report anything. Bleacher report is nothing more than a bunch of bloggers making articles built around a logorithm that tells BR what generates the most page views. It is without question, the absolute worst source for any information.

You'll get better cooking advice from a pornhub than you will get sports information from Bleacher Report. It's literally an alphabet soup program designed to get you to click on the article for advertisers sake.

I do not care at all what Bleacher Report is 'reporting' at the moment. It's reverse engineered faux news.

Certainly...at the low low cost of the first overall pick.

I'd say the opportunity cost there outweighs the nominal cap savings, wouldn't you?

This draft is too deep in DBs to take Milliner at 1.1, IMO.

DJ, I am not giving any of these sites credibility for their reporting. Just merely passing on the information to track the opinions as they change with wind direction.

I'm curious which ones would still be on the board by the time we take our pick in the 3rd. I was hoping we could pick up another WR like Woods from USC.
