You guys just don't get it. The Chiefs' PR people are much more clever than you think. They don't openly support Alex Smith, because someday they might have to cut him or replace him.

The PR department are the ones pumping up Tyler Bray. Bray is buried on the depth chart so he has no performance to interfere with whatever myth they wish to create, he gives the impression that management is "on top" of the QB issue, and he gives hope for the future. Also, Bray's incipient success makes the front office (and ownership) look like geniuses.

Bray is the perfect PR trifecta.
