It's not that bad anymore. Way better than the 80's/early 90's. I'm not saying you want to go running around down there (or in a lot of NE either, for that matter) at 3 am, but I go on group rides with a local cycling club through SE pretty regularly and we've never had any issues. Actually, they see more than 5 people riding bikes and everyone assumes it's a race. Lots of cheering and encouragement, which is hilarious.

That said, I just wish that this had happened to Pat Collins. Would have been infinitely more entertaining.
