I remember the draft where Quinn got taken ahead of our pick. Hope he does well when he gets a chance for us.

Maybe Quinn is a late bloomer like a certain Rich Gannon.

Who do you want as number 2? Stanzi or Cassel? |

Choose your words carefully Chiefs fans because we are all going to be calling for Quinn by midseason.
I want to believe. Quinn led a team at the college level. He was successful there and was a first round QB. Cassel on the other hand was not a prospect and only ever should have been asked to be a decent NFL backup. Question: If Quinn had been the backup when Brady went down, would he have done as well as Cassel did that year? I think he definitely could have or would have. I don't think there is any warrant to say Cassel is definitely better than Quinn. One got a shot in a favorable situation. The other never did. I don't expect either to be QB in the NFL much longer, but for what it's worth, i think it really should be an open competition. Quinn is probably just as good as Cassel. |
When the crowd comes in, the spotlights go on, and the NFL ref blows the whistle for real, players play a lot differently than they do in practice or in college. From 1st-round busts to physical specimens, the NFL is littered with "could've beens" who looked like Tarzan and played like Jane. It's why guys like Jeff George and Drew Bledsoe never reach their potential while guys like Doug Flutie and Chad Pennington make more of their opportunities than expected.
If Quinn was Tarzan, he'd be starting somewhere. He's Jane. His last game action was the end of 2009. And it should be memorable for some of you. Sun 12/20/09 at Kansas City. 10 for 17. 66 yards. No TDs and two INTs. QB rating: 27.7. Move along, nothing to see here. |
