It's not so much an issue of his "debt" to any one entity, but more an issue of "no one owes him a damn thing, he ruined one of the best opportunities available, in one of the worst ways possible." But I disagree.

Vick apparently always ran with the wrong crowd and didn't have the brains/guts to turn his back on them when he made it rich. Many people would have struggled with that dilemma. He is guilty of many things, but not as guilty as many who walk free. I am as big a dog lover as anybody, but I think he paid disproportionately dearly for the severity of the crime. He still has his house because he is going to try to prove in court that he can still earn enough to repay his creditors.

Most importantly, he did the time (and I think it was excessive). As far as I am concerned he is as free as anybody to pursue a wholesome life now. That's what the justice system is in place to do. Obviously he'll have strict terms of probation but I wouldn't begrudge him getting back in the league. If you think he didn't get punished enough, blame the justice system, not him.

You missed my point. Our prisons are dangerously overcrowded because we incarcerate anyone and everyone who breaks a law even if they are not dangerous to society.

Vick was cruel to animals so sentence the dude to 3 years confined labor at a cattle ranch or dog pound or something that makes him pay his debt by contributing something back to society.

Same as the college kid who gets convicted for marijuana possession. Don't throw him in jail for 3 months like they do here in AZ. Set him to work on a government project or somewhere else where he is contributing instead of taking up prison space that could be used for a rapist or other dangerous person.

Lock up your dogs if you live in KC metro area..

2008 Micheal Vick is sentenace to 18 months in Federal Pen for bankrolling a dog fighting enterprise.

In 1998 Leonard Little leaves his 24th birtday party drunk off his ass and has a car accident that kills a woman (Wife and mother) Little received 60 days and 1000 hours of community service..

It seems to me we are being a LOT harsher to someone mistreating animals than we are to someone that takes a HUMAN life while being drunk? :shake:

Now Vick being prosucuted at the Federal level didn't help his case what so ever but the outcome still remains the same.
