Equilibrium was introduced to me by my GF... like the OP, i dont understand how I've never heard of it, or why it did not make millions. Searches show that in its peak it was on only like 300 screens and made just over 5mil worldwide, with an estimated budget of $20m.

Other (kinda dorky) contributions:

The Last Unicorn (Voices of Christopher Lee, Alan Arkin, Mia Farrow)
- /duck... CGI remake been in the works for years tho. Uber cartoon from my childhood.

The Rainmaker (Matt Damon, Danny Devito)
- love it, could watch it over and over. Hard as hell to find for sale though.

Dave (Kevin Klein, Sigourney Weaver)
The American President (Michael Douglas, Annette Benning)
- Just watched a good episode of The West Wing last night, had to re-watch them both today.

Good film. I saw that a couple of months ago for the first time. Both Macy and Baldwin were good.

Has anyone seen a recent movie called King Arthur?I just watched it yesterday morning before football and was thoroughly entertained and impressed.

It's supposedly based on the real Knights which actually lived 1000 years before the legend as we all know it.

Great movie.

Joe, If you haven't seen it, check out Brotherhood of the Wolf. Great foreign action film with just enough horror to enjoy.

I watched it a while back on Nzoner's reccomendation. Definitly worth checking out.

This also reminds me of another good, unknown Sam Rockwell flick. Box of Moonlight.

enjoyed it as well. Speaking of the Baldwins, Usual Suspects, which I never heard of until I rented it after it came out on VHS, IMO the best movie I never heard about back then...

Most of the films I've seen that you've never heard of would be foreign films. I love foreign films like Amelie and A Very Long Engagement.

There is one cult classic you guys may not have heard of and it's called A Night on Earth.

It's a few short stories of events taking place at the very same time on different points on Earth. A couple of these (the New York and Rome) are wickedly hilarious. The rest of the shorts can be rather uninteresting, but those two episodes are worth watching the film for.

Yeah thats a really good one. Has some really solid action sequences to go along with the great but also bizzar storyline.

I dunno... does 'True Romance' qualify?

* "Kenny and Company," early film by Don Coscarelli (of "Phantasm" and "Beastmaster" semi-fame). Made in 1976, perfectly captures what it was like to be 10-13 years old at that time.

* "Cutter's Way," Jeff Bridges mystery from 1981. Terrific acting.

* "Top Secret," by the guys who made "Airplane." It kind of gets lost in the shuffle between "Airplane" and "The Naked Gun" movies. Their "Kentucky Fried Movie" is also good.

* "The Final Programme," (aka "The Last Days of Man on Earth"), based on Michael Moorcock novels. Totally wigged-out acid sci-fi.
