Fishing , hunting and ATV riding in the spring, summer and fall make it all worth it. Bring your worst in February mother nature you old wench and I'll spit in your face come spring.

Inside The Weather...

The winter storm has essentially gone as planned through early Saturday, with snowfall ranging from near 1" in Springfield to as high as 6" in parts of northern Arkansas. Road conditions are not good, as you might assume. Click on the links above for the latest updates from the highway departments.

The biggest news today will be the bitter cold. The snow will be coming to an end, and road conditions will continue to be quite slick. Temperatures will warm very little, if any, today. Expect highs in the teens and wind chills below zero.

Skies could clear partially tonight, and with fresh snow cover, temperatures will likely plummet to below zero over the deeper snow pack in Arkansas and far southern Missouri. A small upper disturbance will ride through the flow tomorrow and could bring a few flurries, but I don't expect any additional accumulation.

I have an insert with a blower in my fireplace. I have been making regular runs out to the wood pile and have had a massive fire going for two days. It saves me a ton on my heating bill.

ROFL Hey!

Rain Man 02-18-2006 08:20 PM

It's wicked cold here in Denver. When I came home from work yesterday, my car thermometer was reading -3 to -4 F, and apparently it was -9 later that night. Windy, too, which made it a long walk to the car.

luv 02-18-2006 08:31 PM

It stopped snowing early this morning. Only got about an inch. It's friggin' cold though. Not as cold as Denver, but cold enough to keep me inside. This is the worst it's gotten all winter. It's about time.
