Rock Chalk, win at any cost. Oh, well. Just flush him and bring in the next Mickey D All-American.

What the hell would you want them to do? If the report is accurate, KU will absolutely have to dismiss Giles for good. The team and the university gave him a 2nd chance, showing that they care about the players, but this would be unexcusable for Giles at this point. Do you honestly think that they are flushing Giles down the toilet? He's flushed himself at this point...and no doubt, KU will probably replace him with a McDonald's All-American. When you have one of the best recruiters in the country, a venue like Allen Fieldhouse, and the national exposure of the KU program, the McDonald's AA's line up at the door. It's a positive...don't see how you can spin their recruiting as a negative, but you will and will continue to prove to the entire board your utter ignorance and blatant disregard of the facts.

OK, one more time for the slow guy. Self is warehousing these AA's. Your right they line up to play at KU (to a degree) but he just takes them without looking at their character. Giddens, that whiney little biatch from Washington and now Giles. I suspect Self doesn't give a crap about their character just their talent ... that's my point! Your program is beginning to get dragged through the mud because your players are dragging 20 year old girls around Jayhawk towers. It's a disgrace.

Listen Lester Earl was a complete mess too but Roy controlled him. Roy was a great coach for KU and kept the program squeaky clean (at least on the outside) and he did that by controlling his players. Self, can't or won't do that and now the scandals just keep a comin'

I agree Saul. I'd rather have a Red Chip player with character who stays for at least three but preferably four years and graduates. I wouldn't recruit the player that says he's doing a year in college and then is taking off. Memphis had that problem a couple years ago with that kid (can't remember his name) that Calipari brought in, WSU had the same problem with Maurice Evans and KU had it with Giles and others. They're more trouble than they're worth.

Don't get me wrong, I like Blue Chip athletes. We are getting a couple next season. However, they aren't Mickey D AA's. They are better than that.

IMO a coach should recruit the best talent possible assuming that talent is going to be part of making a group of guys a "team" and stays in the program for continuity purposes. If a guy with monster talent comes in a says publicly he's only staying one or two years and then acts like the rest of the players ought to kiss his arse then the team never forms and they lose. Personally, I think this has been KU's biggest problem, not enough team cohesion. I mean look how they played against Arizona last year early... it was a joke. They did improve but in the the end the talent (young as it was) got it's butt kicked by a better "team".

I've said it once and I'll say it again, i'll take the likes of OJ Mayo for 1 year over ..say..PJ Couisanard for 4. You can't pass up talent like OJ, even if it is for only one year.

Now, I agree with you, he needs to be a team player, and do what the team needs him to do.
