I ended the week with my son's being smoked by a drunken driver...good news is they or anybody else was not hurt. Here we are in he middle of a major snow and ice storm and some idiots come flying through a stop sign doing about 50 mph....luckly my one son yelled at the other they were going to get hit so he peged it...just enough to keep from getting blindsided on the drivers side,we'll have to replace the bed of their pickup but that is the least of my worries,my kids cannot be replaced. Please if you drink, don't drive....it's not worth it.Had they plowed into the drivers side door at that speed my son's could of really been injured.I thank god he was looking down on them last night.

flowergirl-

Good news. Being a parent ain't easy, is it?

What the hells a drunk driver doing out running around in the snow? Wait I know the answer to that. He's drunk and sound judgement is the last thing on his mind. Someone ought to have beat the snot out of him after the fact. I would have looked the other way.
Sorry but I've seen too much stupidity from drunk drivers.

flowergirl 02-10-2001 01:37 PM

Gaz....those phone calls in the night when you know your kids should be home and aren't are terrifying. My son's had been at work and had been snowed in intown but were on their way home when they were hit....they had just left their friends house to come home...I just keep thanking God today that all is well...except for their pickup, but trucks can be replaced.

As for wanting to beat the hell out of them{their were two of them drunk}yes I'd love to,just wish people would get it through their heads not to drink and drive...my kids are my greatest acomplishment while being on this earth,I could never ever get over losing them, especially to something so sensless. So heads up everybody...if your going to drink find a sober ride home...please!

OK freinds......

For those who might be wondering what is going on !Here is the scoop,Everthing is final,Time for Me to move on!
The merge is taking place, effective @1600 hrs TMR. The other Co. didn't want me at this time, maybe in 2-3 weeks, their not sure. I feel it is a way to break ties and not have me at a large salary and benefits that will carry over, who knows! Been all day, making calls and clearing the desk out at the office .

Got the resume made out, going to take a couple of weeks off to feel things out and go from there!

I went to another interview today just for the hell of it. Came out pretty good I expect a callback. But I'm gonna stick with Sprint. Sounds good and an hell of an opp. for growth within the org.

Anyway... Roy, hope things work out.

Roger.

BIG_DADDY 02-15-2001 06:37 PM

Roy,
Sorry to hear it. That is why I left corporate america and I was at a good growing company too but there was just too much BS for me. Hope you find something good soon. Keep us posted.

flowergirl,

Good to hear that your kids came out of alright. There is nothing quite as bad as losing the ones closest to you, especially your children. I just had a very good freind get into a head-on with a drunk driver while he riding his harley he had just built and it was a miracle that he walked away from that one. The guy even attempted to hit and run but my freind got up and yanked him out of the car. The clown didn't even have insurance. Unbelievable

flowergirl 02-15-2001 10:51 PM

Roger.....sorry to hear about your job.

Big Daddy....I hear what you mean about trying to hit and run...my sons said the guy got out of his truck and took off running on Foot!! He didn't get very far!
