hahaha i was the first one to post anything on this right after the Denver game on Sunday.... then another guy posted about this last night and people were giving him all kinds of shit because of herms press conf..... i new this was a big mistake!

What person in their right mind wouldn't have done that.. Peterson was justified to do what he did. Whitlock said in his same statement Lija was stolen from the Chiefs and now is a full time starter for the Colts 2 years in a row. He answered his own derogetory statement in his own article. The odds were not in our favor to make the playoffs no matter what anyone says. Losing to the Browns should be proof enough.

I'm sure Peterson didn't ask Edwards what he thought.

Yep, I was the other guy, and an arrogant asshat called jspchief was the one running his ignorant mouth the most about how the Chiefs would never have put Dunn on IR if he was still capable of playing.

Carl makes way too many legitimate blunders -- let's just not bash him when he actually makes the right call (or at least, a very reasonable call).

Exactly what I wanted to post.

If Carl HAD NOT put Dunn on IR and instead left these guys on the PS, we failed to qualify for the playoffs, and they had been snatched by another team, we'd be reading "Ryan Lilja" articles from Whitlock.

It wouldn't matter what Carl does, it's wrong.

And we still don't have PROOF that Dunn is capable of playing.

What you have is one guy, with a known axe to grind, saying that he HEARD that someone said that someone said that Dunn could still play but the Chiefs were putting him on IR anyway...

It appears to be a quote from Dunn. What I don't get is why whitlock thinks Peterson wouldn't have cleared all of this with Edwards. As if on gameday, they were looking for Dunn and didn't know where he was.

That's not the way I read the article.

"Dunn told me Monday that he’s played with the injury for six weeks. When he entered Arrowhead Stadium on Monday for a brief team meeting, Dunn told me he hoped the Chiefs could reverse the decision. When Dunn left Arrowhead, he told me that assistant general manager Denny Thum told him that the Chiefs regretted placing Dunn on IR and they wouldn’t have done it if they thought they were going to qualify for the playoffs.

Dunn was visibly disappointed.

“I could play four more games,” said Dunn, who admitted he’ll undergo surgery this offseason. “I’ve been playing with it.”

Yep

I hate Carl as much as anyone on this board, but this is a silly angle for Jason to be taking. An absolute no-win for Carl.

How is it a no-win for Carl? Has anyone been worrying that Hannon was going to be signed off the practice squad the entire season? Does anyone even know who the hell Hannon is?

Halfcan 01-03-2007 08:53 AM

Bigfoot has been very solid this year-turning into a great team player and a nice draft pick.

No, not really. My point was that if we didn't make the playoffs, and he didn't cover these guys, the proverbial Damnit, Carl! would be in full effect.

This is only a big deal in hindsight.

If Hannon had been unprotected, picked up by the Chargers, and started for them next season, you bet your ****ing ass people would know who he was.

Allegedly Dunn told Whitlock he could still play - that's second-hand info for us.

However, DUNN told Whitlock that Denny Thum SAID they wouldn't have placed him on IR if they thought they would make the playoffs - that's specifically what I'm talking about.
