He has only been signing one year contracts... he's making like 850,000 a year! I like Gammon, but if we actually needed him in a game I wouldn't be surprised if he died

C'mon, Gammon's a 4th string TE behind Tony G, Dunn, and Bigfoot. We obviously don't need him in a game anymore than we'll need this 250 lb. center.

Long snappers should only be judged by long snapping, nothing else.

That said, Gammon's been completely removed from the depth chart. I didn't hear any wind whatsoever of Gammon retiring or being let go.

This takes me by surprise, and I consider it a big deal because Gammon's been top-notch for years.

I agree... but it would be better if this person had the ability to play in the NFL... With inactives... the LS has the chance to be important in games if the real center goes down

It would be awesome if kickers could be wideouts and QBs could also play safety, as well. But face it, the long snapper int he NFL is now just a specialized position like kicker that, if you want quality, you have to carry on the roster.

I don't find it very hard to ask your long snapper... a lineman... to be able to be a reserve lineman... Gammon would die... this guy atleast would be able to play. Asking a QB or wideout to play safety makes no sense... asking a lineman, to be able to be a lineman does

LS is a specalized position now get over it. Every team has one.

I don't disagree... but they SHOULD be ABLE to be a RESERVE lineman

If it's an OL or DL with any upside, look at 'em. I'd rather see too many prospects coming through than too few.

Actually, long snappers aren't necessarily O-Linemen.

Bobby Bell was the Chiefs long snapper back in the day.

Jared Allen was one in school.

I don't know what position Gammon played in college, but he's listed at TE for the Chiefs, as was Adam Johnson, who was brought in to compete for the job last year.

Darche, at 246 lbs sure as hell isn't an O-Lineman.

Tight End is on the line the last time I checked... so is a DE... all i'm saying is that Gammon has no shot at ever being able to play in a game if somthing bad happend... this guy at least could put up a small fight
