Okay, forget the Staley thing for a minute.
Why are you opposed to drafting a DE? |
After reading this thread, I'm guessing a meltdown happens, no matter what. :)
As for me, I would be disappointed with Staley, Ross, a TE or a RB. I'm not a big fan of any of the DTs that would be available there, either. I am prepared to be disappointed. :( |

http://www.sportingnews.com/yourturn...c.php?t=198691 Joe Staley, OT, Central Michigan. Staley, initially a third- or fourth-round prospect, showed his natural athleticism during a great on-campus workout. Look for him to go in the second half of the second round. http://transcripts.usatoday.com/Chat...pt.aspx?c=1120 Rob Rang: Joe Thomas from Wisconsin and Levi Brown from Penn State are clearly the top two OTs in this draft. Thomas is unlikely to get out of the top 3. Brown could make it to the Texans, but because of the lack of depth at the position and his strong performance at the Senior Bowl, the Texans may have to consider moving up to guarantee his selection. The third tackle on our board at NFLDraftScout.com is Central Michigan's Joe Staley. Staley has great athleticism, but is significantly rawer than Thomas or Brown and should be a second-round pick. I'll find some more... |

Nice finds. I've been looking as well, but like you said, it's next to impossible considering these sites update content constantly. |

Jared is a nutcase but he's also young and one of the top 5 DEs in the game. We'd better sign him to a long term deal and plan on him being on this team. He's our best defensive player. |

Eh, what's wrong with Staley?

There's a reason we can't pick him in the 2nd or 3rd.

Doesn't make him worth it. |
